160 crits for Meteor Achievement
Any idea how to do this? I pumped crit chance and area best I could but no dice.

I just did it with +Area, +Crit chance (items + abilities) and Multihit on the Meteor. I also took the +60% crit chance ability on the meteor (last tier skill) and managed to do it within the last 5 minutes, as there are enough enemies.

Boost your crit chance. Take every upgrade for meteor with crit chance (level 2,4,6,8,10).
Use potion to duplicate at least 10th level crit chance.
You can tak some multistrike with potion of memory on level 3,6,10.
I've done this couple mins before level ended (I've done it on 2nd one).

Thanks for the tip with the memory bottle. It didn't occur to me to use it like that.

Hi,

similar to @PAW's Trait choice.
Only differnece, I used my Double Potions on:
Fusion (III, VI, X) to boost the base crit chance by 60%
Heat (II, IV, VI, VIII, X), so Memory Potion for VI and X to get both.

Wooden Ring +15 base crit
Cunning Technique + 25 base crit

If this should still be not enough, picking Archer gives +2.5% base crit per 10 lvls.

I did it on Ember Grounds without issue. Had about 800% Crit Chance by the run's end.
Used Memory Pots to Area+Crit as often as I could (think I also memory potted the +Multistrike on III and VI). Doubled the 30% Crit twice, don't even think I hit the X upgrade before achievement or not.

I was overlapping with 25k Radiant Aura so my 3rd Memory Pot went onto Archer's 10% Crit to all Proficiency IV rather than the level X meteor crit.
I also got 2 upgraded Wooden Rings as drops so the run is a little skewed on just how much Crit I racked up.

I chose Ember Grounds as the map for the sheer mob density. I normally do things on Crossing unless the Achievement requires a # of Hits/Kills as this one does.
If anything, I think the map choice here is probably the biggest factor.

Isn't Fusion crit bonus, not chance? I'm like 99% sure its crit bonus.
To answer the thread though, the most important thing is to balance crit and area. To deal 160 crits with a single meteor (multishot won't help) you have to hit 160 things with 1 meteor with 100% crit chance...

OR 80 things with 200% crit chance...

OR 54 things with 300%...

OR 27 things with 600%...

As you can see, you need to drive up crit chance, but you still have to hit a bunch of stuff. So get as much +area and +crit as you can (consider exterminator/archer). Nothing else matters.

Yup, my bad.

So scrap that.
Not sure if only ONE Meteor counts ore the whole barrage from one cycle, so maybe area isnt that important. Especially on Agony, since mob density is insane in the later minutes on every map.

Archer
Wooden Ring
max. Cunning Technique

I - Blast
II - Heat x2
III - Frequency
IV - Blast + Heat
V - Blast
VI - Heat
VII - Blast
VIII - Blast + heat
IX - Frequency
X - Blast x2 + Heat x2

This would be my final suggestion, but it works probably with way less investment.
Since i got it by accident, picking MS in the last few minutes without the use of any potions.

Almost done updating my guide.

I did it with Exterminator but Archer is also good due to her innate crit chance bonuses, as mentioned by Ulyaoth.

For me what worked best was focusing on Area to make each individual meteor impact big enough to cover a vast area on screen while maxing meteor crit chances in order to reach high overcrits (doubling potions, obviously).

I completely ignored multistrike and attack speed in order to have enough time to gather as much enemies within an impact area as possible between hits.
