Maximizing gold gain, aside from the blessing?
Having burned out on Vampire Survivors, I picked up this game a week or so ago, and I'm having an absolute blast. I love how this game actually feels like a challenge, where positioning, aiming and tactics actually matter, and where a small mistake can cost you dearly. VS couldn't get my heartbeat up, but Halls of Torment sure can!

Anyway, with the pleasantries out of the way: I've managed to kill all the Lords, and unlock all characters so far. That means I've done most of the easier/passive quests, too, and that source of (extra) gold has all but dried up. I've maxed the Gold Gain blessing, but I'm coming back from runs with a couple thousand gold at most. With the Wellkeeper being the ungrateful extortionist that he is, this feels painfully meager. I don't have all that much time to play (single dad, busy job), so I'm looking for any possibilities to maximize my income.

Agony mode still has me struggling for lack of potions, equipment, and blessings. I managed to clear the first hall once with the Archer, but so far, that's my only success. I assume with all the extra elites, Agony mode makes you a lot more cash once you can actually survive it, but I haven't yet been able to confirm this.

Any other ideas for making a quick buck? A recommended hall, perhaps? Or should I just accept that there's a bit of a progression slump between clearing normal mode and Agony, and keep soldiering on?

Hi,

beside Agony as the best Gold Farm Way,
you could do a Gold Farm run the old fashioned way.

Make sure you have
Milestone - Greed Rising -> Collect a total of 20 000 gold. Gold gets brewed in barrels.
before atempting this.

With the Blessing and this Milstone unlocked:
Haunted Caverns - Normal
either a fast char like Archer
OR Warlock with his off screen traveling projectiles

The goal is to run around and destroy as many breaskables as possible, while still killing enemies in the field.
Somethimes a Gold Slime can spawn, which dies after a fixed number of hits (20?) and drops a Pile of Gold.
A great ability for faster hits is Transfixion to start with. (Warlock)
Although Ring Blades could provide more use, since the Blades fly all over the place and can destroy off screen containers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would highly recommend to aim at unlocking potions
(collecting all ingreadients -> then bottles)
to make your foothold into Agony.
Even Hauntend Caverns can provide you with over 10k per run, which will blew out your money issues.

If you dont mind Spoilers, you could check here for some In-Depth Information and some strong build ideas (a bit utdated atm, but still standing strong)

Alright, thanks! I'll go for the potions first, that'll give me some tangible progress while still making me gold passively. Once I've got those, I'm sure things will get better :)

If you can manage easy to beat the Lords of a Stage, keep bottles in your inventory till the end.
Every Bottle in your bag will be avaible instantly, after killing the Lord and end the map via Orb.

I got about 200K gold and nothing to spend it on.
This is a single player game and the FAQ (https://steamcommunity.com/app/2218750/discussions/0/3759978149432919977/) says the devs don't mind you doing whatever. Just modify your game files for extra gold.

If you don't wanna "cheat"...

1. You can use oblivion potions and "max" your character by around level 50-60 (run out of traits to select, take 1 ability to kill stuff - or none and just use main weapon). Every level thereafter you will get offered 50 gold or 100hp as a reward. Take the gold, it gets buffed by the bonus too.

2. Forgotten Viaduct has a "ghost wall" at each end. Kill the ghosts for 100's of gold each. You will need to follow a guide for how to do this as they are tankier than final bosses.

P.S. focus on getting achievements done, not gold. More achi's complete = more exp = faster level = faster everything. You will also earn a bunch of gold while working on the more important stuff: achis.
