Do you keep all items if you win run?
Do you? or is this a well item farming simulator?

So I only and singlely get to keep the one from the well?

You keep all items that you received via the well. You will always have them available through your chest and inventory.
Items that you don't own yet and you never put in the well will be gone after the run.

The well also needs to change as it also makes no sense and just wastes the player's time.

What makes more sense is that you find items and use them and if you 'escape' you get to keep ONE of those items (call it a magical curse or have a gatekeeper nick the rest or whatever)

If you die, the Innkeeper sneaks down the well and retrieves ONE item from your corpse which you can later buy from him for cash

That makes more sense and isn't such a waste of the player's time

The objective here is to reward skill and ensure progress no??
keeping an extra item at the end of the run sounds good too

I think that not keeping items upon 'escaping/winning' is just bad development.

It would be rewarding the player for "beating" the lvl, and then you get to drop an item down the well that would go towards a different build / or if you think you're gonna loose the run, you can drop an item down before you die that is for your build.

By now, all Empty Bottles you have in your inventory will be retrieved automatically without the cost of gold, if you end the run via Boss Orb.

Oh noes, imagine giving me 5 bag slots but I can only take 1 item out with me. What next, slots for armor, rings, trinket, boots, and then only allow me to wear one? Did someone rob me as I left?

For ♥♥♥♥ sake, it's a stupid mechanic stop defending it. And don't drag other Roguelite's into the mix either, NONE act like your bag disappears on success, only on death. Fk sake.

You are so right, if this game had:
- more variety gear items with some randomized stats, maybe ranked as "common", "rare", etc.
- you could keep at least one piece (or all) if you win the run.
- keeping the use of the well as it works now, just one piece per well and having it to buy it later, but maybe that there are 2 or 3 wells on each level, but hidden (not shown on hud untill you find those).
- if you loose and die you loose ALL your equiped items, even if you own them.

i think those would improve the experience and feeling of rewardness.

I have only completed like 40% thought.

Great game anyway.
