>his game is like that, some skills are easy, others are very hard to level. I don't mind it
but why does it even exist if anything would be better, it has no place in viable build, and is suitable only for challenge runs for people who want to make the game more difficult
If you still struggle with 3mil, assuming you have 750k and 1.5mil done:
X+X = Memory Potion
x2 = Double Potion
Beast Huntress
Weapon Proficiency - Frost Bite I-III
everything else is your choice
I - Force
II - Impact + Frequence
III - Impact
IV - Frequence
V - Impact
VI - Impact + Frequence
VII - Force
VIII - Impact + Frequence
IX - Impact x2
X - Frequence x2
You have 1 double potion and 5 memory potions left. So do whatever you want with them.
Dont pick any other ability.
Choose a stage you like, no matter if Normal or Agony.
If you want to use Frost Avalanche in a working build:
I - Frost
II - Frost
III - Waves
IV - Frost
V - Frost
VI - Waves
VII - Frost
VIII - Frost
IX - Impact
X - Waves
The amount of Frost Stacks let entiere Hordes explode.
I assume you only unlocked the 750k quest:
I - Blast + Frequency
II - Blast + Impact
III - Impact + Frequency
IV - Blast
V - Blast + Frequency + Impact
VI - Impact
VII - Blast + Frequency
VIII - Blast + Impact
IX - Impact x2 + Frequency x2
X - Blast x2
You need the maximum number of Double Potions (3) and memory Potions (8), but this build is totally overkill, so less will work as well, as long as you only pick this ability.
You can do it on every map with any character.
Good Luck,
Cheers!
its pretty hard to do, managed to barely make it on non-agony haunted cavern. agony, without using my main wep and only avalanche was legitimate agony.
went norseman with beast hunter mark.
used the gloves that buff abilities, turned off my main wep, and everything else was just damage or attack speed where available.
get the ice buffing weapon proficiency and rush getting avalanche upgrades. use the dedications and proficiency on whatever feels best, but there's not really any good synergies in them with avalanche (they pretty much all buff main wep or physical damage). though getting movement speed works with berserkers boots if you use those.
i grabbed transfixtion because i figured fragile stacks would help, it seemed to get a lot of kills and steal a lot of dps but it really helped on the bosses. feel free to try it, but it should be fine without it, though bosses can be quite troublesome with avalanche alone.
you want the second avalanche upgrade, the one with the extra projectiles, not the pools.
all the pool upgrade does is spread frost effects which kill a ton of enemies without giving damage for the achievement. spend all your pots on avalanche's main upgrades, avoid the frost chance, heck banish it asap. i only had one double pot which i used on a damage up, but i had some of the lock-in pots to get damage and speed on the same level.
But it makes a very good suport skill with the slow upgrade and as frost application.
If pushed full on frost, it can explode hordes of enemies before they even reach you.
Really seems that avalanche indeed is a joke, too slow, dmg too low , plus the projectiles from it is very odd just spitting in diagonals , it should have an upgrade for it to be fired in the four straight directions so it would cover more area.
Another weird thing is that the upgrade for the breath to get knock back just does not work at all. Very disappointing.
I also have yet to do this quest, but here's 2 small hints I can give you:
-the 9th and 10th upgrade for abilities have double the effect! So you should upgrade Avalanche all the way up to level 8 and when you get the final 2 traits, use the double flask on them, basically giving you 4 times the effect you'd normally get. And only do it on a damage or attack speed upgrade for Avalanche
-you could try getting the Beast Huntress mark, its weapon proficiency trait can increase your total ice damage. If I'm not wrong, this also increases Avalanche damage. Especially the 4th weapon proficiency upgrade, which gives 30% ice damage. With a double flask you can make it 60%!
Unfortunately it takes a while to get to all of these strong traits. But it might be worth, just for this quest alone. Also, maybe unlock the ice affinity trait from the Norseman quest first. And maybe play with Spellcaster Gloves?
I was sure Avalanche is the worst ability in game, until I unlocked Spirit Warrior :)
