Golem Damage Quests - Impossible?
I can't seem to even get the lowest level golem damage quest done. The dude just rolls in circle around me while I kill everything else with other spells/attacks. Do I need to play a round using only the golem? Any tips would be helpful!

As far as I'm aware, the ONLY way this is consistently possible to finish atm is by abusing the ghost wall towards the top of the 3rd map. They have a ton of HP, and move slowly, allowing you to stack damage up on them.

The biggest tip is staying near your Golem. Like real close. He won't throw out as many attacks if he's near the edge of the screen, and will spend more time following you around than attacking.

To do this, of course, you'll need to have a build that lets you stand your ground. To that end, I think either Exterminator or Shield Maiden are good picks for this. Probably paired with Dragon's Breath for strong area coverage. Bonus points if you can snag the knockback mod. Of course you'll probably also want to max your damage blessings - physical and fire.

Get on your knees and pray you can pick uo the scroll for the Golem's fire mod. I think it more than doubles his hit range. You'll start noticing that his melees can basically one-shot even tankier mobs, so it should mostly be easy street from here.

If you want some extra insurance, bring Spellcaster Gloves. You could also take Warlock instead of Exterminator or Shieldmaiden to sacrifice some stats for even better Golem DPS, but you probably shouldn't need both to hit 3mil. I don't think I did.

I did it on the second map with Warlock. I just took as many skills as I could to buff the golem. As the previous poster mentioned, I tried to stay near the golem whenever it was attacking. However, when it's rolling, it seems more likely to hit things if you are actually moving.

Oh yeah, the roll is also incredibly powerful. I think you can also kind of influence its direction based on how you position yourself away from it. But honestly, it's just way too inconsistent. It seems like the overwhelming majority of the time it'll just clip the edge of a mob rather than bowl through the center. The melees are far more consistent in terms of dps.

best tips i can give is grab transfixion for fragile/affliction they both increase your dps. and grab for on hit for more fragile chance. DON'T grab roll duration/cooldown each one hurts you you grab more than 1 and its probably impossible. grab the fire upgrade if you can. you can grab other stuff to fend off enemies but try to stick near the ghost wall in 3rd map and let golem go to town on them. i got golem to 3m damage with like 6 mins left b4 the buff. but the roll waste so much time grabbing more than 1 duration/cooldown will kill ur run.

Transfixion is a good pick but I don't think I'd consider it all that necessary if you can just pick up some upgrades in False Blessing. But I do still think attacks you can aim will be the best, so that you can steal fewer kills from the Golem and let him do work.

you'd be attacking the wall of ghosts and weakeneing them with fragile so they take more damage helping golem slap the ghosts around to do as much damage as possible. longer golem is attacking ghost the less its idle/walking around looking for targets. if he didnt idle so much u could finish 3m damage in like a min or 2 at the ghost wall. ghosts dont die

Oh, those ghosts are actually immortal? So like...do you HAVE to have a revive or obscenely high durability to make it to the Lord of Despair? I thought I just cheesed it...

pretty sure they just have infinite health. the ghost wall ones not the ones the reaper boss spawns, u can kill those. there is ways around it, u can just tank them to alk past them. knockback/slow can slow them down and make it so u can walk past them when they're no longer in a line. best i can say though if find a powerup that makes u invulnerable wait for wall to get close to the powerup then grab it and walk past the wall.

It's funny how I've now seen posts about Golem and Lightning Strike being near-impossible when those are the first two I finished.

I'm not trying to brag or play myself up or anything - here I was scratching my head on how I was gonna pull of that kinda damage with Astronomer's Orbs or Arcane Splinters...glad I accidentally got the hardest ones out of the way early.

b4 the lightning nerf it was one of the best. but even after the nerf its one of the best, problem is damage isnt counting now. like in game id have around 15m damage then at end screen it would show like 3.3m its possible its not counting crit damage now. golem still one of the hardest but it did get huge buff that makes it much easier. orbs one of the hardest. splinters if u can get one of the upgrades makes it really easy and i can get around 6m per game with it now.kugelblitz was super easy as u could get it with high aoe and fast attacks while moving slow and just do massive damage. not to mention the massive amount of electrify damage got like 85m electrify in a run b4 the nerf now its a reasonable like 4-6m

go warlock.
turn off your main weapon.
stick by the golem, like hug his buttocks as much as possible.
screw the roll, punches is where its at.
focus damage, range, and aoe. grab his upgrade asap.
grab all warlock traits that buff summons, and get all versions of demonic pact.

should make it easy to get the 750k. the 2 unlocked traits for that are much better than the 2 default ones. with those you should be able to hit 3 million without even needing the second upgrade from the 1.5 million achievement.

second or third map works, you dont need the ghost wall.

and for astronomy orbs you want to go archer, as the orb movement speed and the upgraded orb damage scales with movement speed. also the archer proficiency for +.2 projectiles on all abilities and 2 levels of multihit can give you 4 orbs.
got these on map one.

arcane splinter i had no issues with, you just need to once again turn off your main and aim the ability well. it fires up and down, also dont get range buffs, keep it closer range.
also got these on map one.

for all of these achievements use sorcerers gloves, if you turn you main weapon off sorcerers gloves gives 66% more ability damage.

Lightning Strike is soooooooo easy to do, so I also don't understand that one.
