To do this, of course, you'll need to have a build that lets you stand your ground. To that end, I think either Exterminator or Shield Maiden are good picks for this. Probably paired with Dragon's Breath for strong area coverage. Bonus points if you can snag the knockback mod. Of course you'll probably also want to max your damage blessings - physical and fire.
Get on your knees and pray you can pick uo the scroll for the Golem's fire mod. I think it more than doubles his hit range. You'll start noticing that his melees can basically one-shot even tankier mobs, so it should mostly be easy street from here.
If you want some extra insurance, bring Spellcaster Gloves. You could also take Warlock instead of Exterminator or Shieldmaiden to sacrifice some stats for even better Golem DPS, but you probably shouldn't need both to hit 3mil. I don't think I did.
Oh yeah, the roll is also incredibly powerful. I think you can also kind of influence its direction based on how you position yourself away from it. But honestly, it's just way too inconsistent. It seems like the overwhelming majority of the time it'll just clip the edge of a mob rather than bowl through the center. The melees are far more consistent in terms of dps.
Transfixion is a good pick but I don't think I'd consider it all that necessary if you can just pick up some upgrades in False Blessing. But I do still think attacks you can aim will be the best, so that you can steal fewer kills from the Golem and let him do work.
I'm not trying to brag or play myself up or anything - here I was scratching my head on how I was gonna pull of that kinda damage with Astronomer's Orbs or Arcane Splinters...glad I accidentally got the hardest ones out of the way early.
turn off your main weapon.
stick by the golem, like hug his buttocks as much as possible.
screw the roll, punches is where its at.
focus damage, range, and aoe. grab his upgrade asap.
grab all warlock traits that buff summons, and get all versions of demonic pact.
should make it easy to get the 750k. the 2 unlocked traits for that are much better than the 2 default ones. with those you should be able to hit 3 million without even needing the second upgrade from the 1.5 million achievement.
second or third map works, you dont need the ghost wall.
and for astronomy orbs you want to go archer, as the orb movement speed and the upgraded orb damage scales with movement speed. also the archer proficiency for +.2 projectiles on all abilities and 2 levels of multihit can give you 4 orbs.
got these on map one.
arcane splinter i had no issues with, you just need to once again turn off your main and aim the ability well. it fires up and down, also dont get range buffs, keep it closer range.
also got these on map one.
for all of these achievements use sorcerers gloves, if you turn you main weapon off sorcerers gloves gives 66% more ability damage.
