Items that are garbanzo
Necromancer's Clutch: Summons Skellies - cool idea but useless 0 damage
Demonic Bond: Summons Imps - cool idea but useless 0 damage
Seal of Rebirth: Revives you once with 50% life - worse than useless because it's technically negative damage or negative survivability
Shadow Cloak: - spawns some small clouds that protect you with 10 block - clunky and very bad^2, serves no purpose whatsoever
Longfinger Gloves: 80% pickup range - close to useless but maybe somebody making builds that stand still and don't move
Pest Ring: Summons rats that are supposed to apply debuffs - cool idea but possibly bugged or highly inefficient

EDIT: added the pest ring

Longfinger gloves are amazing early, early game when you don't have the gold for the pickup range upgrades. I agree with the others though. Particularly shadow cloak.

Idk why but you mentioned the better two summons out of the 3. Skeletons are the best and imps are still ok, but the rats actually feel like they do nothing. Anyway these 2 items are solid for warlock, I've gotten 3-5m per ring with them in generic runs. Seal of rebirth is good before you're endgame and super OP lol. Same goes for longfinger before you get the multihit gloves

3-5m per ring is a lie untill I see proof because I've tried them quite a bit and yes ofc on Warlock.

The summons are pathetic even on Warlock, let alone on all the characters with 0 summons synergy.

Yeah I bet it took some effort to get to 3mil but ok I guess I stand corrected.
But I still stand by what I said, they're garbanzo because they have no real practical use.

Yep, would be cool if they had some main hand weapon scaling perhaps.

Example of a simple but fun buff: Skellies deal an extra 10% of your main hand weapon damage (5% for Cleric) and imps have an extra 10% of your main hand attack speed.

Doesn't need to do x% of main weapon damage or anything like that, but benefiting from (main weapon) upgrades would be sweet. Skele is strong enough to carry a new save file's early game damage so they can start snowballing. Both, but imps especially, need a movement boost and leash range boost. Golem, too. Rat does f all in current state, and considering what it does, it should A) actually work and B) become rat swarm instead of useless trickle.

I agree. And also on Warlock you get crazy class traits for damage and AS on main there is no point doing summons build at all unless you wanna have low damage

Bruhhh, literally just do a run with warlock on vieducts once you're late in the game. I wouldn't be surprised if some semi-optimal ghost wall attacks with fragile stacking clear 10m damage even on imps.
RunRampant Jul 23, 2023 @ 7:19pm
This isn't to say that the summons are particularly good, I do wish they were better. But they're certainly plenty fine on warlock.

Add Duelist Spark to the list.

I'm not sure the pest ring is working properly atm. It does no damage, the rats frequently ignore the closest enemy, and the debuffs are too random. I'm guessing it's best used by non-summoners to help inflict status effects.

It might be better if they exclusively inflict affliction instead, but that might put it into OP territory.
Wedge Jul 23, 2023 @ 8:46pm
summons are 3 mil damage items, shadow is just something to wear on the chest that does some sort of damage, rebirth is junk, longfingers is good early game

Yeah the rats do nothing, completely forgot about them. I think they're bugged.
