Orbs are OP
Ok maybe not OP, but insanely powerful. I cant remember where but I recollect hearing a couple people state that the orbs are by far the worst of the bunch and I couldnt agree less. I love how viable all the skills are when maxed out. Right now Im on the inferno map with only needles and orbs and im breezing

orbs require thought and positioning to really shine

using transfixion and phantom needles, particularly if you have both their upgrades, requires no thoughts at all and creates a 10 meter dead zone around your character

Never really go for transfixion, ill have to try that. I had the orbs fully upgraded and literally no mob could come within my pickup range from around the middle of the game all the way until the end lol

Orbs definitely aren't the worst. But I think they're kind of middle of the pack compared to the other options I have tried.

orbs are alright, especially with warlock since they count as summons. But yea kinda middle of the pack overall. Better than the spinners and golem but worse than all the best abilities like transfixion

Are you sure about that?
My orb maxed early on with both ascended options already and 10 orbs total as warlock.
Check the dps difference between warlock main weapon and orb.

PS: I didnt use ghost wall to get unrealistic dps score

You can make every ability stupid op, Orb's weakspot is the range compared to other abilitys that reach out to screen edge or even further. Finding a good Synergie between abilitys is another thing, because the stal kills from each other.

For this Orbs + Radiant Aura can be pretty bonkers, Orbs for dmg, Aura for debuffing.
But experimenting around with all those is important and a lot of fun.

I've once managed to get 22, but there's a youtuber who claimed to have gotten to 30 orbs. Haven't watched the full video though.

Correct me if i am wrong
3 base orbs
3x Bodies trait - double potion -> 6
60% projectiles - Invocator's Grasp +40% summons + 20% with multihit
+20% projectiles Archer - Weapon Proficiency IV Projectiles

9 + (9 x 0.8) = 16.2
Two rows with the upgrade 32 Orbs.

Edit:
With Hunter's Gloves(+30% projectiles) it would be 15.3, so also possible.

I've just checked the video, he has 15, he just counts the inner orbs too, I would have 32 in this case because I have 16 per orbit

Well I was playing warlock who has the same bonus as archer with summons but the rest of the maths is correct :)

Archer plus Transfixion plus needles is just projectile heaven. Lots of crit. lots of piercing. Freakin clears like crazy.

That's the build i use the most, it's fun highspeed-firing thorny things outwards. :)

When it comes to Astronomers Orbs, they're fun, too, but it takes a while to get there and i rarely get the +1 orb traits. And when i get those, in most cases my reverberant potions are already used up. T-T
