I'd imagine if HoT blows up enough, the thought of multiplayer could come back around and become a reality. Vampire Survivors is about to release their co-op so it might bring some inspiration of some sort to change their minds in the future.
It won't cost you much and thanks to Steam we could play online through Remote Play Together.
So you won't have to write any netcode and s**t, just a way to play with other 3 people on the same screen.
Please do it!
You want 3 quarters of a million dollars to "reconsider" it?
I'm going to kindly prod you here. What about allowing another player to take control of the Golem? Even that would be pretty nice. Also, not online but local and it can possibly be fudged into online using Steam's Remote Play.
u get it. but they are brain dead. numbers are numbers. so no MP ever. gg
Fun fact: realistically to get 150k reviews, it'd require something between 3m and 15m owners (20-100 copies per review), so I suppose that number was a little exaggerated, right?
Also, almost one year later, owner estimations on SteamDB[steamdb.info]:
~632.4 k by VG Insights
~876.7 k by Gamalytic
~887.3 k by PlayTracker
Are we there yet?
As said on the thread, multiplayer doesn't mean online necessarily, could be local/couch, which sure, requires lots of work, but no netcode or server stuff, so it's probably much cheaper and faster in general.
Vampire Survivors itself added local co-op post release, and here are a few survivors-like and bullet heaven games with co-op support, either local or online.
+1 for whatever co-op you can fit in, even if just asymmetric local co-op as suggested.
Thanks for it. The game it seems coming very popular and still early access. If we get Coop that will be AMAZING! Just imagine the Sorceress with the Viking or the Flamethrower. That will be fun af.
