Watch the mark on the ground, you have to stand behind that line when closing the window.

Walk slowly and when the wind blows turn around. When you get close enough to the window you will be able to close the window with your ability. Patience is key :)

You can use the Shift to walk slowly I guess. That's how I did it. Just be patient.

Thats lame, walk is not working on my controller %) wasted nearly 30min to figure out that the walk is in game controls at all. Devs better give advice on this puzzle instead of second one on ther freaking site.

Ok, well, what controller are you using? On a controller, there is no walk button, the speed of your character is determined by your input using the analogue stick. However, since you cannot half depress the walk button on a keyboard we added the functionality to walk by holding the shift key.

How in god's name did any developer ever think this would be _fun_? Challenging, yes, but the opposite of fun. If I want tedium and exasperation I've got my day job.

It's a puzzle. You're supposed to pay attention to what's happening, your environment, and your items and determine what the appropriate course of action is. There's usually some trial and error involved. I felt a sense of satisfaction when I beat it because I figured it out. That's how puzzle games work.
But another thing about puzzle games is that individual players have different experiences. A puzzle that's intuitive for one player may seem completely obtuse for another. Good developers can minimize this, but I think it's impossible to eliminate entirely. I try to keep this in mind when I play.

There is a walk button on the controller, pressing and holding the second analog stick will make your character walk. Really weird way to bind the controls given that RB is unused by the game outside of navigating the cave paintings.

I think I only managed to get past that puzzle because shortly before that I looked at the key bindings and was confused what good the walk button could be. Imho it's a bit like the goat puzzle from broken sword, requiring a different gameplay mechanic that is used nowhere else in the game (at least as far as I know, only played 3 characters so far).

I can think of one other place it's necessary.

Impatient thoughts are as petals scattered to the winds.

Yeah, this one is particularly frustrating because each attempt takes so much time to do. But like others have said (thanks guys BTW) on the PC hold down shift so the Monk doesn't run, only walk when the wind isn't blowing (the bells are still) and when you get a third of a screen from the bowl, press and hold Q to use your power to close the window. I didn't realise you could hold shift to walk, and also that you could press Q without dropping the flowers. Solved it first go after that!

Thanks for tip on "shift" key. Will try that. I had weird thing happening of walking to the left when the wind died down, but then when I'd stop the monk would take a step back a bit to the right, often back to where I started. Would get partway there with the blossoms and then something would go wrong - not sure what. Maybe it was the shift key I was needing. Was also trying to use the other characters in front to shield from the wind, but I guess that part doesn't help.
