are there any other games like this but a little easier, its my first one and find it too hard with all the backtracking etc, any reccomendations for something similar but a td easier would be great. Thanks

Other games would be point n click adventure games, which look and function a little different from The Cave. You have an inventory, and don't move horizontally, and you also interact with other characters in conversations.

Well. Trine and Trine 2. More action, less adventure. Puzzles are physics based, not inventory based.
