Crash on startup
Every time I try to start The Cave I briefly see the cursor for the game, then black screens flash, and then I get a notification from windows 7 that says the following:

Cave.exe has stopped working

I've updated my graphics card, manually applied the redistributes, verified local game cache, restarted my computer and still nothing fixes this issue.

Here is an error in the event log:

Same issue.

I was getting the same type of crash until I turned off multi-display in NVIDIA control panel. Even though it was only a cloned display, the game didn't like it at all.

Thanks for the response (both of you) but I am running off my laptop with nothing else attached. I've got someone on the DoubleFine boards helping me out. No solution yet but he is very responsive.

The game also doesn't support 4K resolutions. I had to check the run in 640*480 mode in the compatibility tab of the properties to make it run and then manually set the resolution to 2500*1600 to get it working right. The %APPDATA% folder advised in the FAQ does not work out on Windows 7.
