Alternate timelines gems seems broken

I noticed it during Valentine special timeline. Then the same repeated with the St. Patrick. Now I see the same with "Only Boss" timeline.

All gems from the green chests are always L1 Voidstones. I just finished "Only bosses", and got zero special loot - except now I have 44 L1 Voidstones. I combined all previous ones, and as I have 2 Tier V voidstones and 1 Tier IV voidstones, then I got 189 Tier I voidstones before.

All other gems are counted in dozens, and I got them either not from the chests, or in other paths.

Oh, wait, I just imagined the other explanation. Can it be that _the Space_ always have only L1 Voidstones? Because it's the last and hardest zone, and I spent most of time there, buffing my heroes, until I kill the dragon, so maybe that's the reason?..

Each zone gives a certain type of gem. Your second explanation is correct.
