First time opening the game. Can't find activation code on steam.
I've purchased it a long time ago, now finally when I bought a guitar I try to open the game. It ask me to login to uplay, so I login with my existing account then it ask me for activation code, showing me an instruction how to find it in an old outdated steam client. I open the owned dlcs, click on the activation key and then steam moves me to a main shop site. No key. How do I proceed?

Well, you just arrived in a somewhat weird situation. Life happens and gets in the way, I get that, and its a good thing that you bought it before because the game has been recently delisted from Steam after about 10 years in use because of Licenses of the songs expiring.
Development of this game has been stopped in a few years already, to make way for a newer subscription based version, only on Ubisoft themselves. And in that time Ubisoft also made a change to their system to drop Uplay and change it to Ubisoft Connect, which this program does not link to. (that's why the outdated client)

But don't fret :), if you bought it, it can still be used, but if it still might need that code, or not anymore is a bit hard to say, There's two possibilities ;

if you still need to register you can find the code in the Steam Library section, right click your game and choose manage, then CD codes, which will show your code.
Then you go to Ubisoft Connect and register the game with that code. You don't need Ubisoft Connect to be on for playing this game though.

If it doesn't need the code anymore, then you can just ignore/proceed, and when it asks for ubisoft account, you can skip it with a few ESC button presses.

The Ubisoft servers are only used now for leaderboards from two options in the game. They might be shut down on a later stage also. The rest is all handled by steam.
if you want to use leaderboards or (on a later stage), there is also a community effort being made into a separate app.

One important thing to note, is that also the separate DLC songs available on Steam are being delisted around the time they reach the 10 year limit from being pubished. So if you want some more songs you need to act on them, and don't expect them to go on sale anymore. They haven't since the previous Rocksmith version and songs got delisted.
I made a post earlier about the songs to be delisted already, https://steamcommunity.com/app/221680/discussions/0/3878221099913593848/
I'll try to keep up posting the next dates.

Hope this helps, and just ask away here if other things are an issue, The game may be delisted doesnt mean its dead and buried, its still alive and rocking.

That's it! I couldn't find it, thank you very much! I really appreciate your help :)
Is there some site I could buy these songs in packages with discount? Damn such a waste it's getting unlisted. They can get a bit costly buying them separate.

Well some songs are available in packs, that gives a lower price in total. Otherwise it is what it is.
Depending on your needs you can spread the buying perhaps.
Check out the riffrepeater site for more detailed information. Steam is a bit messy on showing the songs

Buying on other sites, chances would be slim, and could be on what we usually call grey sites. Not always dependable. Cause they can use keys that are obtained illegally or just don't work.
One thing to look for if they got proper refund service, customer support.
And be sure that the key is for Steam only. I don't think there are region limitations on these, but you might just look out for that too.

Thanks for advice. I sprinted throughout the wikipedia dlcs list with spotify, trying to buy favourite singles/ packages. Some of them have already vanished. Anyway I'm broke now. On the bright side - after 5 days of Rocksmith I already improved my navigation on the neck tremendously. Gonna eat potatoes until christmas with that in mind.
