no audio output device detected
I was able to play fine last week, but now when I try to open rocksmith I get an error message that says the following.

ERROR SOUND INITIALIZATION
No audio output device is detected. Please connect and enable an audio output device then restart Rocksmith 2014.

My sound is working just fine in every other app. I'm using Windows 10 and my guitar is plugged in with a real tone cable. The only changes I can think of since I played last were Windows and Steam updates. I'm not really sure what else to do, but let me know if I can provide any more info to help.

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you tried just disconnecting your audio devices and reconnecting them? If they are USB devices, can you try a different USB slot, as that sometimes helps with audio related issues. You could also try checking to see if there is any drivers available to do update for them.

Installing the driver from the manufacturer's website seems to have fixed it. I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and the default Windows driver has always worked in the past, so I'm willing to bet that a Windows update broke this. Anyhow, it's resolved now. Thanks for the help!

P.S. Any chance you'll build linux support into Rocksmith+? :)

Thanks for the update dogspeed!

Glad to hear you've been able to get it fixed!

As for Rocksmith+, we have no information to suggest Linux will be supported at launch, but we'll pass your feedback onto the team as something for the to consider!

If there's anything more we can help with, you know where we are!

maybe somene some day will find it on google and this will help to someone.

for me problem was using vb-audio cable and voicemeeter banana, turn off all output and input devices from that apps (or one of them) in ur sound panel.
I am having a similar problem on widows 11 home. My audio output is set to 24 bit 48000 hz. No other formats are available, so I can't switch to 16 bit. Any suggestions?

I had win 10 update once and had to go back in and turn off the Fkin XBOX bar in the win settings. Also sounds stupid, But if my steering wheel is plugged in RS won't even start and no error message anywhere

I get this error whenever my TV is set as sound device. Switching to front or back audio jack of the PC fixes it (for me)
