If I want to watch videos while Rocksmith is on, I just use my smartphone to do it. You could still use web browsers with Rocksmith minimized, just make sure that you close any tabs that had videos opened before switching back or the game will be silent (until you do).
Good luck, hope you get it figure out soon.
Hey ALMA,
Thanks for reaching out, sorry to hear you're missing sound!
Is the program completely mute?
And if so, could you please check;
- Your Volume Mixer (to ensure Rocksmith hasn't been muted)
- That both the game and your Windows Sound are set to Stereo
- Does this issue occur with speakers and a headset?
- Disable any spatial sound (Dolby Atmos / Windows Sonic)
- If using a Bluetooth headset - please try a wired one
Please let us know how you get on!
Fncanuk - I've merged your thread here if you could also check the above and let us know.
Thank you!

I checked the in game Audio settings, everything is at 100%.
Everything is set to Stereo that I have been able to locate in game and on system.
I have tried every sound driver I have .
All Spacial Audio appears to be disabled.
Nothing from speakers or headset even if headset is unplugged there is no sound from speakers. all other games and applications have sound. its only when I switch to Rocksmith. The game is mute for some reason. Is it Something conflicting somewhere, or is it just a simple little mute button i'm missing and may have hot keyed. I don't know. all help is very appreciated!
I tried everything i could, i really want to play this game, otherwise this would've been a clear refund.
I changed the Output device to "Dvd settings", reinstalled the game, reinstalled the audio driver, disabled basically my entire startup, disabled every output device except my headphones, changed everything in the config, disabled the firewall, reinstalled again, tried my tv as an output device.
Nothing worked.
I am not using a USB headset, i'm using regular headphones.
We can see that you've tried the workarounds suggested here by Ubi_TheBerry. Thanks for answering some of these questions too. There's another step that may help:
Once you have the output set to stereo, and you're back at the “Playback” tab of the Sound control panel, select the device again and click the “Properties” button.
In the Properties dialog, select the “Advanced” tab. In this dialog, you should set the output to 16 bit, 48000 Hz output. You should also set the device to allow exclusive mode to applications. If you have the option, set your audio device to give exclusive mode applications priority.
Let us know if this has any impact for you, or if you have any questions!
Thanks for posting and letting us know what helped you get this sound working again!

Ok thank you for letting us know this.

This was his problem
[Edit: The issue was the Audio Interface "Mod" in combination wit the Behringer UMC 22, which is causing problems. The fix had to be the removal of the mod and using the official cable.]
But if you have a problem after for instance a Windows update, best to check the windows privacy settings
And the windows sound settings, output and recording to check on what is selected and what sound level.
And like Alma says above, disable what you don't use. That mostly solves the usual problems.
