Original Rocksmith dlc songs not showing up through RS 2014 anymore
Hello there,

I recently had to reinstall steam, which, I totally forgot, in the process, deletes all games installed on the default steam location. Upon reinstalling RS 2014 back, I noticed few of my songs aren't there anymore and it's the original rocksmith songs I had bought and worked seemlessly on RS 2014 (Judas Priest 3-songpack), 'til I suppose its delisting from steam.

No matter what I try, I'm unable to get them to be downloaded for RS 2014. I think, previously it was showing up inside the dlc list for RS 2014, but it's not anymore and they are not showing up in game as well.
I understand the license probably ran out since it's delisted, but I freaking bought some songs, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to download them.

Anyone knows a solution maybe ?

GOOD NEWS !!!!

Just got word of one of the people at Ubisoft to check on the songs again.
For me it seems fixed, and songs are back !!!!!!

Can you all check yours and let it know cause I don't have them all, and maybe some slipped through the cracks..

To elaborate on this, please make sure you're up to date with the latest official version of the Steam client and check your library. The issue should now be fixed and RS1 DLC should be properly appearing in RS2014 even if you don't own the original Rocksmith.

If you are still missing songs please let us know but be sure to double check that songs aren't being hidden by active song filters and that you've checked that your Steam client is up to date.

I mean, I still have all my DLC. Kind of ruins your theory as much as you want to blame Ubisoft when it's most likely Steam messing up the entitlement for a second time. It took them a few years to let people purchase this content without owning the original game.

Both Steam and Ubisoft are likely involved. While Steam is the storefront, manages the database, and provides the platform, I believe Ubisoft manages what content is playable every time you log in to their servers. I don't say that with total certainty, but I've been studying this issue for 2 weeks. If anyone has concrete knowledge about how this works, please chime in.

Entitlement is checked through Steam API (with the steam_api.dll). They are the ones indicating to the game which appID you own and can be shown against the file loaded up by the game. Ubisoft server are not used during that process.

Does that also hold true for the rs1compatibilitydlc_p.psarc file? I believe all RS1 songs live in that file and Steam does not track that file with other DLC's. Per Steam support "This game uses a separate account and activation system that we can't access at Steam Support. When you launch the game, it utilizes everything from your Ubisoft launcher.... due to the way DLC recognizes it's base game, the DLCs you are looking for will not appear under the DLC properties tab of Rocksmith® 2014."

All entitlement are checked through Steam API, both RS1 and RS2014 are steamworks game that uses their own DRM and do not rely on Ubisoft launcher (Uplay at the time) for anything DLC related. Only communication with Ubisoft server are for leaderboards, it is the only thing that requires you to have an Ubisoft account. There was also the check for Uplay specific reward but since Uplay has been disabled entirely, Ubisoft updated how that has been handled.

Considering that Valve has taken years to actually work out the RS1 DLC handling back in 2013 in accordance with Ubisoft request (notably the ability to buy that content without owning RS1 which was impossible for about 2 years), I'm sadly not expecting much from them as it deviates from their usual handling of any other cases within their DRM system.

Thanks for the info--I appreciate your knowledge of the situation. I'm curious if you have inside knowledge or just have a technical understanding of how these things work?

Same here - Windows / Steam onwer of Rocksmith 2014 but not the original. Approx 100 DLC now missing which I paid several hundred $ for. Seems Steam/Ubisoft are happy to sell me DLC originally. Whatever backend changes where made they just need to revert until there is a fix that works, or refund our DLC.

Anyone still with an open Case with either Ubisoft or Steam can give any updates?

Just received an automated reply from Ubisoft after waiting almost a month for a reply: "Our Support Team is currently experiencing high case volumes, so we are reaching out with a message to check-in and make sure you still need help!..."

Let's hope the "high case volumes" includes a heavy representation of this RS204 issue!

Hi
I have the same problem. About 1 month ago, the DLC I purchased - EUROPE The Final Countdown (I didn't have any paid DLCs on this STEAM account) disappeared in my RS2014. I have a second STEAM account - but since I discovered the loss of one DLC here - I'm afraid to log into STEAM - lest my second account lose the dozens of DLCs I purchased.
The thread here is quite long and I'm a bit lost. Where do I report lost DLC? Here? Should I write to STEAM support or UBISOFT support?
I really don't know where my application will be considered.
Is there one proven path?

Good luck with any support on this , look at what kind of support I got with a diffrent isssue.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Ubisoft Game Support. I'm xxxxxxxxx.

I understand you are experiencing issues with Rocksmith 2014 asking to calibrate guitar. Upon checking the information provided, we are not able to take more actions. We have now stopped post-launch support on this game, as our development team has moved on to other projects. We have no further updates planned for this title, so this issue will most likely remain in the game. We hope you will still be able to enjoy your time playing and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

If there is anything else you require assistance with, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Regards,

I am also missing content.

- Rocksmith™ - “Welcome to the Black Parade” - My Chemical Romance (DLC)
- Rocksmith™ - “Dammit” - blink-182 (DLC)
- Rocksmith™ - “Free Bird” - Lynyrd Skynyrd

I'm sure I am missing more but those are the ones that I know for sure are gone.
