Realtone cable not being recognised in game on Windows 11
Recently bought a new PC, at first the game wouldn't start at all but managed to sort that by setting the CPU affinity with cmd like so:

c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 0xFFF Rocksmith2014.exe

However, the realtone cable isn't being recognised in game. I've made sure it's plugged into a USB2 port and I've tried reinstalling the drivers using this method:

https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/article/troubleshooting-real-tone-cable-in-rocksmith-on-pc/000063077

In device manager it shows up as "Microphone (Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter) as expected.

I've also made sure "Allow apps to access your microphone" is set to true and that the sample rate is 16bit 48000 Hz. If I click "Listen to this device" I can hear it (although it is quite delayed).

In game it says "It sounds like your cable is unplugged."

I have 1642 hours logged in steam for this game (I absolutely love it), PLEASE HELP!

Just to be sure have you also set the Rocksmith cable as default input?
And where does the output go to?
It's best to disable Nvidia outputs and surround sound settings should be disabled.
Also since this is a new pc, do you have anything newer hardware like wireless headset/speakers, Razor, Elgato, VR ?

Hey mate cheers for trying to help me - Rocksmith cable is the only audio input available and no new hardware - only audio output that has been plugged are HDMI to TV (this is not set as default) and speakers connected through normal 3.55mm audiojack. The game audio plays fine through both the TV and the speakers, it just doesn't detect the cable with either selected as default.

I've also tried toggling a few settings in Rocksmith.ini - EnableMicrophone (and selecting microphone mode in game) and RealToneCableOnly. Neither worked. :(

I'm having the same issue. This is pretty sad seeing as i just subscribed to the package. I won't be doing it again if this is not fixed. Works one day then the next nothing and this is without having any windows/driver updates. SMH ubilost

Hey dude, I just managed to fix mine, it probably won't help you as I presume you already had this set, but just in case:

I needed to set "Let desktop apps access your microphone" to on as well as "Let apps access your microphone". It was located right at the bottom of the app list. To find this page in settings, it's under "Privacy & security" > "Microphone".
