Calibration not working with Real Tone Cable! [workaround]
1. Start Rocksmith
2. Navigate to settings: Tools > Options > Audio settings > Input gain overdrive
3. Enable it and set to desired gain (below zero will make the guitar quieter, above zero louder). You can start with +1.0 db and see if you want to change it later
4. All problems are gone, no more calibration issues and no more constant volume drops when restarting the game.

I think the calibration algorithm in Rocksmith is broken. It locks the volume at 1 or 100 and does not readjust it, which makes the calibration impossible.

Hey bodja,

Thanks for sharing this workaround, appreciate it and hopefully it'll be helpful for other players in future!

locking to 60 hz worked for me
I don't see an audio settings when I nav to the options
In Windows 10, I set my refresh rate to 120hz and was then able to calibrate and move on.
