Songs played wrong?
So I was watching a buddy play rhythm guitar for Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life", and I noticed it sounded wrong at 100%. So I went researching, and found that sure enough that is not the way the song is played. I kept looking, but was never able to find the tabs the game uses. Did this game get the actual band tabs for songs or did they make up their own for the game? This is also not the first time I've noticed songs being wrong either. I mean lets face it, If I'm gonna learn a song I want it to be the proper way it's played, yet this seems to be not played like this by anybody, but Rocksmith! Also noticed that this game tends to teach wrong finger placements. Sure people are free to use what ever they feel comfortable using, but why teach placements of their choosing, and not the band members actual finger placement instead?

I dunno some CDLC seem to have wrong notes and you can report that in the CDLC forums. I have no idea how Rocksmith does it.

Yeah I know, I own all the Evanescence ones. Haven't gotten to them on guitar yet tho.

Just seems odd that they would get the rights to sell something with these songs yet they use the wrong notes?!? Kinda dumb if you ask me. A teaching tool that teaches the incorrect way of playing songs?! Why?!

I'm sure they have the correct notes and the licenses and all that. Probably more like disgruntled employee. I heard some wild ♥♥♥♥ goes on for example in the animation industry. Some artist might get angry at working for nothing so he draws penises in the background of some cells. Not enough for anyone to consciously notice, but it's there none the less type of thing. Maybe this is something like that. Maybe someone did that before quitting or something, knowing someone would find it later. Way of living in the company's head rent free or something. I dunno man. :FateLaugh:

I mean... they must check their stuff before release? Again, kinda stupid on their part if that's what happened!
Not sure if this is still available and/or for songs (or just the in game section) but you might want to check this for tabs

Neat I guess, but doesn't really help me. I just don't wanna learn guitar songs incorrectly is all I'm getting at, and well that seems to be the case with Rocksmith!

Doesn't the charting team claim to try to chart as accurately to what the band is actually playing as possible, either getting notation from the band, or researching any video recordings or official music charts when unsure? At least thats what I remember reading years ago.

Keep in mind that tabs posted on the internet are rarely accurate, just someone's best guess or a "common" way its played even if its not accurate to how the band played it.

You would think if they paid for rights then they would have gotten the actual song sheets.... no???

That assumes that every band transcribes official music for all their songs, even just for use internally. Thats... unrealistic and unlikely.

Well you asked for the tabs of the song in Rocksmith, so i thought this might reveal them?

Im trying to learn the song too, but am not yet at 100%. So cant really tell yet.
All i know is they get a license for the official songs that get transcribed to Tab.
If there's a mistake or the song changed i dont know.

What? For real? So your saying some songs are just in their head, and that's it? I did not know that if that is true!

LOL, some do, that explains why at live concerts it might even sound different.

I was at a concert with Evanescence, and didnt really notice. But Amy Lee has such a great voice singing live.

I have definitely seen bands play different in live situations, but normally there is always the "proper" arrangement. This just seems odd that we're learning on a learning tool that provides guess work instead of the actual played arrangement... especially if they paid for rights!
