NoCableLauncher no longer working...
Greetings all,

Some time ago I downloaded a tool called NoCableLauncher. It allows you to play Rocksmith using devices other than the Real Tone Cable. In my case I was using my audio interface, and it was working fine.

However, I've come back to Rocksmith again and the NCL app no longer seems to work. It launches RS fine, but RS doesn't detect anything from my guitar. My setup is working fine, I can hear the guitar using the direct monitor on my audio interface, and my virtual amp works fine. But RS does not.

I had a look around and found an updated version of NCL from another author, but that one doesn't work either. There haven't been any updates to RS since I last played, nor have a I changed anything in my setup, so I don't really get why it would suddenly stop working.

Anyone got any ideas?

(If your only "advice" is to buy a Real Tone Cable, save your fingers. Bought two, both eventually stopped working, I'm not buying another just for this one game. Thanks.)

Nevermind, I found the problem.

One thing has in fact changed about my setup. Last time I played I used my audio interface for my guitar, but audio output was my soundcard. These days I run both input and output through the interface. For whatever reason, RS doesn't like that and won't detect the guitar.

The problem can be "fixed" by opening Rocksmith.ini and changing ForceDirectXSink=1 to ForceDirectXSink=0. Don't ask me why this works... I don't even know what the setting does. Found the fix through trial and error. :p
