Constant amp switching from main menu on
Official realtone cable. This game has worked great a few months ago but this month the amps are constantly switching now (about 1 change every 2 seconds but with a random pattern) from the main menu on anytime the cable is plugged into the USB. It doesn't seem to pickup any sound from my guitars either.

More details:
After a fresh restart, plug in cable, start steam, start rocksmith, select profile, select learn a song, it says "it looks like you dont have a cable plugged in" (the cable is absolutely plugged in), unplug cable, plug it back in, problem: amps start falling from the sky endlessly and guitar pickups arent recognized so I cant play at all, quit game out of desperation, start the game, select profile, this time on main menu it is constantly amp switching.

What have we tried: We have two cables here which both worked perfectly a few months ago and now using either one we get the same problem. We have reinstalled the software several times and just now 'verify integrity of game files' in steam.
We have tried every USB port on the system.
We have unplugged every other USB device apart from Keyboard and Mouse.
The cable works perfectly using Rocksmith on a different computer (which we just used for testing and can't be our main rocksmith machine)

Clue: Every time we run rocksmith and then run 'verify integrity of game files' it says '1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired'.

Could you help us get this game working again? Thank you, John

Hi NovaCoquette!
Do you have the game installed on an external hard drive, or your system drive?
Do you still have this issue if you completely uninstall the game, reinstall, and run with admin mode?[ubi.li]

Sounds like a misfiring keyboard button

Hello @MT,ZIGG, thank you for bringing this up!

Having a controller connected while using a guitar can also create some conflicts.

@NovaCoquette - can you please confirm if you have any controllers or any other hardware connected to your PC?

Many thanks and if you have any other questions, please let us know.
