Rocksmith® 2014 Edition - Remastered

Rocksmith® 2014 Edition - Remastered

Statistiche:
Rocksmith Will NOT LAUNCH
I am getting rather tired of watching my game played timer rack up and I haven't even gotten a splash screen yet. Numerous UN and RE installs. I've verified my files countless times. Changed ports on the computer. etc. still nothing.

I finally was able to run the game but CDLC and DLC dont show in game. Ive tried everthing I can find online. I have even taken the working version from my laptop, put it on an external drive, and tried to run it of the drive in the new computer. Still doesnt show....take that drive to a third PC and it sees it just fine.
When you open the "manage my dlc" section on the entry in library they are all ticked?
this is DEFINITELY a Rocksmith issue.... I held off on updating until today... BIG mistake. The current build crashes on song launch and when I try to roll back to the beta now that crashes to desktop. Everything worked until the crippleware updates began in Sept.

Hey there !

I'm sorry to hear that you're having crashing issues with the game.

Could you try the workaround given by Project Misfits earlier in the thread ?

Here's the post:

Messaggio originale di Project Misfits:
I also had this same problem running an 18 core / 36 thread i9-9980XE and fixed it today. The program would not even start up just try and fail without an error report. Adjusting the affinity to use 31 or fewer cores made the program run perfectly. So this fix is still valid in July 2020.

How to set Process Affinity in Windows 10
In Windows 10, an administrative user can specify which cores a process can use every time it is launched. Here is how to set it up.

Right-click on the taskbar.
Click on the Task Manager option.
In the Task Manager, switch to the Details tab. It will show a list of running programs.
Right-click on the program (steam.exe) for which you want to set process affinity.
Choose Set affinity from the menu.
It will open the Processor affinity window.
Choose which core the process can use, and deselect the rest of them
Click OK to complete the task.
Once done, your program will only use the selected CPU cores.

I hope this can help others with this issue in the future. It is very annoying to buy a new game be very excited to play and it will not run at all. You then spend hours trying to fix it and frustration and game hatred can set in before ever getting to play.

Thank You Everyone who contributed to this fix.

If you have a CPU with more than 32 threads, this should help you.

Shadow, Misfits - Thank you both SO SO much. I recently repurposed an old Xeon and very naively didn't consider that having too high of threading would break things. I'm also running windows 11 for the first time and was convinced it was an issue there / chasing down audio devices, USBs, all the other things people have posted about. Again, thank you so so so much.

Hi Ubi Support,

Can you just fix the game? No plans on paying for Rocksmith+ without even a free trial.

Hey Powie,

We currently have an investigation into this open, but there are no available updates at this stage.

When more news is shared, we'll let you know here.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

I did find a work around, but it sucks. It appears that CPU's with a lot of threads/cores crash the game. If I run steam and set affinity to 0-3 cores it will run.
the game wasnt't launching on win11, always crashed in the loading screen, after i uninstalled Voicemeeter and the virtual cables, it worked again
Hey guys,

While the investigation is still ongoing, I'd like to thank you for sharing your experience and the different workarounds you have found.

Once again, as soon as we hear any news, we'll let you know here!

I am curious to those who were able to get this 'fix' (limiting CPU affinity by disabling cores as pointed out above) working if there were any additional steps you needed to take?

I am able to load the game, but only to a 'blank' menu screen. I can see the walls, the floor, the carpet, outlets, but not the amps or any of the menu text. It's just a frozen blank menu screen.

Win 10, i9-13900k, rtx4090

I have spent over $1000 on DLC (not that that makes me special, it's just for illustration purposes), and it's a more than a little frustrating having not been able to play this these past few months.

Hello comatosedragon,

Thank you for sharing this and I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

As you already performed some workarounds, can you please try the troubleshooting steps {COLLEGAMENTO RIMOSSO}? It will help to eliminate any potential software conflicts.

Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Thank you for the reply. Nothing in the troubleshooting article was able to solve my problem.

I did find out that the beta branch is still working for me (I thought that the beta had been removed, but in actuality "JustInCaseWeNeedIt" is case sensitive, which I did not realize, so that is my bad for thinking I wasn't able to play at all).

And on my particular setup, I need to disable cores 0-7 and leave 8-31 active in order for the game to run. (i9-13000k)

Hey @comatosedragon

I'm glad that you have found a workaround to make the game work, by disabling specific cores on your CPU. Your information could be useful for other player experiencing the same issue.

Feel free to get in touch with us again, should it be needed.

Thank you very much.
