How do I install the realtone cable?

I figured it would be plug and play like the console versions, it didnt come with any other software though. Am I missing something?

No. It should install the moment you plug it in. Try a fresh reboot, or a different USB port.

I have heard of cables going bad to where they won't work properly on a PC, but still work marginally on the consoles... Hopefully, that's not the case, for you.

I haven't played 14 yet, still dl'ing, but the cable shouldn't need any special action.
It should be plug and play.
If not, try all the basic steps of steam games, like restarting steam, verifying cache, etc.

What do you mean work marginally on consoles? Also I tried restarting andchanging the USB port, when I plug it in it says it successfully installed but the game detects nothing :(

Which version of Windows are you using..? The fact that it says it successfully installed points to something other than a bad cable.

Go into your sound window on the Recording tab, and make sure one of the microphones lists as "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter".
