REM losing my religion strumming pattern heeeelp

In the main section of the song verse. the chords flip beween Em an Am with a few single E string notes in there.

I'm having real trouble getting the strumming pattern down at 100% difficulty, especially the Am part.

can't help thinking it would be a real help just to have up and down arrows to indicate the pattern

Yes, I'm doing that now - getting a bit better
It may be down to just training my ear to better pick up how the song goes, so perhaps its a good thing there's no indication of strumming pattern as it forces you to listen

Using the riff repeater helps alot, but yeah I'm like you, I do also want the up/down arrows in certain cases to see the strum patterns.

I had to play this one a few times to get it right. It is not a straight forward pattern as such as the two bass notes I think are 16th and after that there are some beats not to be hit. Best advice is listen to the record or as said earlier keep at it with riff repeater. To me it feels like some of the strums are off beat but it is supposed to be that way.
