HELP: NO MENU
I restarted the game and my computer, but for some reason, the play menu has dissapeared from in game. I log in and get taken to the main screen, but there's only the animated backdrop, no selection tool, no menu options, nothing. I can access Steam and UPlay, but cannot exit the game unless I go Ctrl+Alt+Del > Task Manager > End Task.
Is anyone else having this problem? And has anybody figured out why this is happening in the first place?
Please help!

Kill Master have you tried deleting your Rocksmith.ini and reloading?
Have you modified your ini in any way?
Do you run the game in windowed mode or full screen?

I don't what a .ini is, so I can safely say I have done nothing with it whatsoever.
And I play fullscreen.
I'm really hoping I can get this sorted out without having to uninstall/reinstall.

There is a file in your main Rocksmith 2014 install folder. It is your system config file, and you can try to move it to force the game to generate a new config.

If you want to try, right click the game from your list in the Steam UI.
Select "Properties"
In the properties menu go to the "Local Files" tab.
There should be 4 options here
Select "Browse Local Files"
This takes you to the main install directory.
In here look for a file named "Rocksmith" it is a 1kb file its type is configuration settings.
You can move the file out of the directory, say to the desktop, or you can delete it.
Then run Rocksmith 2014. It should create a new file for you.

It is possible you may need to verify your files as well. This can be done through the Steam ui.
Under the same "Local Files" select "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..."

Try both of these things. Good luck

I did as you said, and I saw the menu for a brief flicker of a second before it vanished again.
This is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Dear God help me this idiocy has reached the point where I am about ready to just throw the entire computer at the wall.
As a last ditch effort, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game from its disk, started it up, and I still got the momentary flash of a menu before it made a sad sounding riff and vanished. This is utterly RIDICULOUS!

Can you list your PC specs? CPU, Video Card, Sound Card type. etcetc
Have you updated any drivers recently? If so try to roll back.
How long has this issue been hapopening?
Can you try to set the game to windowed mode? If you add me, I will try to walk you through some more troubleshooting. I have a funny feeling that this may be a software conflict of some sort but I'd like ot know more info.

WIn 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Service Pack 1
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @2.00GHZ
4GB RAM

I have no idea what sort of video card this stupid computer has.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, I had work.
I haven't gotten a friend request from anyone, but I've sent you one so (hopefully) this can get resolved.

[I.R.] has been helping me out, but we figured out that my original profile got corrupted somehow, since upon making a new profile, the game worked as normal, so it's a problem that Ubisoft is going to have to confront, much to my annoyance.
Try making a new profile and see if that works properly, and if it does, you should be able to contact Ubisoft with a support ticket.

I'm having the exact same issue. Screen shot is the exact same as well. So I pretty much have to start all over it sounds like huh? That sucks.

Or did you find a fix by any chance??

Check if the problem persists with a new profile. If not file a ticket.

I know this is old, but I just wanted to put the solution here for anyone that runs into this issue and cant solve it. All you have to do is go to:

Rocksmith 2014 > Properties > Local Files tab > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

It's likely that some files will fail to validate and get re-downloaded. After that, everything should be working 100% :steamhappy:.
