USB headset work around for rocksmith 2014 PC (Razer Megalodons)
I just assume I'm posting in the right place. I'm using Razer Megalodons for this. I did some searching and came up with this fix.

The overall goal is to get your computer to see your headset as a 2.1 instead of 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound.

1:Go to sound in control panel
2:Click on your megalodons and click configure
3:Set them to 5.1 click next
4:Uncheck everything except "center" click next
5:Uncheck "Surround Speakers" click next and finish
6:Find where you installed the game and open "Rocksmith.ini" with notepad
7:Locate this line "ExclusiveMode=1" and change it to this "ExclusiveMode=0"
8:Play the game with your Megalodons!!

I don't hear any audio lag when I play. It sounds just fine.

It works perfectly with the original Rocksmith as well.
As for any sound delay, you can adjust that within the program.

For a wireless Logitech headset click the sound icon on taskbar>playback devices. Right click on the Logitech headset and select Configure Speakers (not Properties). Uncheck all the speakers where it says Customize your configuration. On the next page it says Select full-range speakers, select Front left and right.

I'm using a G930 headset with Vista and these setting work perfectly for me. If your headset or operating system is different you might might have slightly different dialog boxes, but this should get you close to where you need to be.

My Logitech G430 works flawlessly with USB, I highly recommend this headset overall (it came out this year, around 80 bucks)

all this did was give me a "no audio output device detected.

Do you have Megolodon's because if not then it's not 100% fix. Also note that some hardware and driver may not work with this as well.
I'm using a different brand, and I can confirm that it doesn't work at all with other headsets.

Please be specific in the headset that didn't work because there are many varibles that can cause any headset to not work or work with this prosses including drivers, OS and hardware in use.

You have my deepest thanks, works like a charm with a Logitech G430!

while USB Headsets can work, they are really non-optimal.

Personally I strongly recommend a good sound card and speakers, and/or a good headphone amp and analog cans.
