Weird chord diagrams in Knocking on heaven's door...?
Hey guys, Bought this game a few days ago, and really liking it. Had my blast with Santana these past few days and I wanted to get some relaxing song to play so I plugged in my Hollowbody and started playing.

But I can't progress. It's showing me these weird diagrams I've never seen before. In a chord with emphasis on one fret (Usually the core note) and the other frets encased in < and > .. Anyone know what they mean? Thanks!

I have played that song but I haven't really leveled it, I know it's all based around G and from what I saw when playing all the chord fingerings seemed standard, maybe I should level it up a little more and get back to you.

I used riff repeater to check if it'd get any clearer, it doesn't. I'm annoyed because I can play the rest of the song no problem but it keeps saying "Miss" and I don't know what it expects me to do.

Same here at Billy Idol "White Wedding", Keep saying Miss at hit notes .... <3

I think I got it figured out. I think it's trying to tell me to pluck the chord slowly with the notes that follow it. It's just telling me that what shape I should be using.. Confusing because in earlier stages of the difficulty it doesn't actually follow up on any of it.

Yep, that's exactly what it is. It's basically telling you "You'll be plucking the strings of this chord in a pattern" I guess that WOULD be kind of complicated to explain through the Interface. But they should've made a lesson for this (Unless it's in Chords 301/401 and I just didn't look over them..)

That's an arpeggio, where you hold the shape of the chord while plucking one string at a time (or as you said, slowly strum a whole chord to give it some more flavor). They sorely needed the UI element to express that, as songs like Spider and the Fly or House of the Rising Sun in RS1 could be pretty tricky to get the hang of when you're just flailing for each note individually. It was a real facepalm moment when you realize that it's just switching between 4 chords over and over, heh.

You're right though, they should have a tutorial about that somewhere. I know Rock Band 3 did the same thing, and they had an arpeggio lesson pretty early on. On a related note, I really do love how RS2014 shows you where your fingers should be, even when it's not necessarily a chord being played. Saves you some trial and error or going to watch a video showing someone else playing the song.

Now that you mention it, there's definitely a lesson for arpeggios. I use them all the time because I pluck my acoustic guitar with my fingers, but I guess I was just not thinking of that.

Weird thing though, I checked the "Technique guide" for this song, and it only told me there were Chords in there, not arpeggios.

Well, at least if gives me a chance to practice fingerplucking!
