Can you play rocksmith 2014 without a guitar?

I have been waiting for my cable to come in for about two weeks now. I just want to see what the game is like, check out the sessions, the lessons, you know.

Technically you can play it without a guitar, as long as you have the cable and something to plug into it to make the notes.

Does it have a 1/4" jack to plug the RealTone cable into?

oh i dont have the RealTone cable yet...i am waiting for it to come in.

Without the Real-Tone cable your just out of luck, as the game does not work without it.

You still can't start it without the cable. You get the box coming up telling you the RT cable is unplugged. It pops up every few seconds until the game detects a cable. You can now look at it without a guitar due to being able to skip tuning.
