How to turn up guitar volume?
Hey guys, was wondering how exactly can I turn up the guitar volume? I've put quite a few hours into the game and it's always kinda bothered me, turning up my USB via windows doesn't seem to make it any louder, nor does the gain setting in RS2014.

The gain setting, no matter what I set it to stays the same and loops constantly in the calibration part, it just constantly says "your volume has changed" and I hit continue and it calibrates again until I undo changes.

Any advice?

Go into the audio settings in RS14 and turn down all the other elements, leaving the guitar at 100%. The guitar will be relatively louder.

Alt-tab out of Rocksmith. Right click the speaker icon in the system tray by the clock. Choose Recording devices then select "Microphone Rocksmith USB guitar adapter", probably at the bottom of the list.

Click Properties, then the Levels tab and move the slider up until the level is about 50. Apply, OK, OK, then back into Rocksmith. Hey presto, louder guitar.

This is for Windows 7, Windows 8 is probably slightly different stepwise but the principle is the same.

Hope that helps!

They have added a level setting feature into the game itself, a patch or two ago, so you no longer have to tab out of the game. It's in Options/Audio Settings/Real Tone Cable Gain.
Yes, such an option now exists, but as the OP already stated, it doesn't really work. If you turn it up by any significant amount it complains after calibration and doesn't let you use the new value.

Using the Mixer to turn everything else down, then turning up your speakers is the only real way to boost guitar volume output.

Thanks for the replies, my main issue is despite almost any guitar I use except my strat, bends on the high E string on the low frests just.. don't register, if there's a bend on 22 the game refuses to pick up me bending the note.. anything past 15 gets to quiet it just wont. This causes me to miss a lot of notes even though in my actual playing through an actual amp the bending is quite obvious, and it's not exactly hard to do lol.

Try going through Calibration again, but this time, when it asks you to Make Some Noise, only play at about 50% of your maximum intensity.
Or instead of playing quietly you could just turn the volume down on your guitar for calibration and then turn it back up when playing the game.

Unless if your playing a bass guitar, then try maxing that volume out through the Microsoft USB properties.

Holy necro batman.

You really don't need to resurrect an ancient post just to say "thanks".

You may need to adjust your pickup height if you don't get the dynamic range you want. Good videos on YouTube by John Carruthers for both guitar and bass.
