So what's the deal with Missions?
I've primarily been using the game in Learn a Song mode and have spent many hours getting my percentages up just so I can feel like I've mastered the song. I have almost 40 songs over 100% and many at 90% or above. Not really following the Missions other than changing pedals, tones etc. which don't really make me feel like I'm accomplishing much.

Can someone explain:

1. What is the goal of completing Missions? Is it trying to get accomplishments in Steam? If so I couldn't care less. I'm in this to increase my skills and have fun which Learn a Song is doing.

2. Other than those 3 Missions that come up in that popup, how do I know what Missions are?

3. Do the Score attack challenges count as mission? I'm not into the explosion noises when I'm playing the song. What is the goal of the Score attack mode.

Any other info on Missions would be appreciated.

1. Basically they are like a guided tour of all features in Rocksmith.
If you don't want to do them thats just fine

2. If you do the active missions new ones will pop up. They will be pretty much anything you can do in Rocksmith

3. At some point yes, there will be that kind of missions as well.
Score attack is one way to practice playing. If you dont like it, dont use it.
You can turn sound effects down in the Mixer so you don't hear them in Score Attack. Score Attack is just another way to challenge yourself with learning a song (or compete with friends/enemies :P).

Missions help give direction to those that do not know what direction they want to go. Or, just want a break from the songs that we have been working on. I tend to follow alot of the missions as they take me to play songs that I wouldn't normally choose to play. Or they help show me the features of the session mode.

You have 40 songs at over 100%? Great. Sounds like you have some serious guitar skills. Most of us were frustrated with trying to learn from tabs, and never had time to sign up for lessons... So jumping around and getting skills from different songs, games, score attacks... is exactly what we need.

Also, those mission unlock a few additional skins, effects and bonus songs

On the lead path, I have 50 songs over 100%, and another 35 over 90%. That's not necessarily a reflection on how good anyone is at guitar.

I still play missions to break up my routine, and to force myself to do different things every time. Otherwise, it's too easy to fall into a routine where you're not really stretching yourself.

Hidden Songs are the only reason I try to complete them.

Missions aren't the best way to earn unlocks. It's quicker to just play a lot of score attack.
You get a new unlock for every 2 or 3 new songs you play in Score Attack.

Are any other hidden songs real artists or are they just unknown garage bands?

One of the last unlockable songs is the intro music from RS1...
There's a list of all the unlocks over on the ubisoft forums.

Those explosions you speak of, are you missing notes. Which also means you haven't mastered that part of the song yet.

When you get 100% in score attack hard or master, then you can say you have learnt the whole song, note for note.
