Can't login with my Uplay account
So i just got the update. Rocksmith made changes to the game that you can now login ingame. I never had problems login until now. It asks for my mail and pw. I type them in and press connect. I get the notification: connecting to Ubisoft server, next notification: The information you submitted is not valid. Please try again. So i logged in on the Uplay launcher to make sure i had the right mail and pw and i could login just fine. I can play offline and it's giving me the notification Ubisoft servers are not availeble. Pls try again later.
Anyone else having the problem and/or if anyone has an solution for this ??

Help would be appreciated !!

i personally guess, that ubisoft indeed tries to build up an own community plattform as a competitor against steam. due to their bonus-system that allows you to unlock additional content, i think they want to convince people to be voluntarily, constantly playing online on uplay, otherwise you won't be able to earn credits ; )
in my opinion, today's publishers/developers are so obsessed with anti-piracy-policies and their fear to loose revenue that they corrupt their own systems. what they don't understand is, that most people that really support piracy still know their ways to get their games illegally - because developing cracks is not a big deal ... never was :P
and because no one would buy their crap, if it needed a constant internet-connection, they use DRMs, but instead of relying on steam (that's not only a DRM but a great community, indie-supporter, update-source and support) they try to build up their own DRMs that don't work, run terribly, su*k as* and try to spy on us ... *cough* origin ... *cough* ^^
i'm not sure, but i guess that those video-game-magnates might hate to share their money with steam; i mean, hey, they are obviously p*ssed each and every time they have to program a pc-port for all their "wonderfully exclusively created" games and then they also need to cooperate with steam?! one can't simply demand that ...
this whole sh*t is profit-maximizing, nothing else. the era of video-game-developers with visions to create something completely new and uncomparable is long over ^^"
it's everyone's decision to support those vultures, or not *shrug*

interested in an example? try this one :D

Launching through Steam no longer launches Uplay. Game remains awesome, with bugs which are bearable for now.

I know this is an old thread, but i searched all over the net and found no answer to this anywhere! I recently purchased Rocksmith and i ran in to this problem.
I also managed to find a way to fix this :)

You need to register your game in U-play.
This is what worked for me:

- go into Steam and find the CD-key for Rocksmith and copy it to the clipboard.
- go in to Uplay and click on the cogwheel symbol in the top right hand corner of the window.
- select "Activate product" and paste (Ctrl+v) the CD-key in to the textbox. DO NOT CLICK OK OR PRESS ENTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is where it all goes wrong :)

*** You need to remove the dashes (minus symbols or " - ") from the CD-Key!!!
for some reason U-play does not accept any symbols in Steam-CD-keys,don't ask me why,it just doesn't :P ***

- after removing the dashes, you may click "OK", U-play should then tell you that this key is for Rocksmith and ask you to make sure you are logged in to the correct account, because once you click OK again,it will bind the game permanently to that account.

After you have done these steps, you should start the game from U-play,and you should then be able to log in to your U-play account from inside Rocksmith. The game itself will then ask you for your CD-key again but you can just do Ctrl+v since it should still be in your clipboard :) no need to remove the dashes this time either.

Also,i have found that a similar method was needed to activate my Hawx 2 game, so although i am not sure, this might work for other games that use Steam and U-play!!

Hope this may help some of you who are having the same problems! :)

Also, if this worked for you, please confirm it here, so that it may help others!!!

This did not work for me.
Following your steps (removing the deshes ( - ) and putting in the Game Key from Steam I get this message on Uplay:

This CD Key of Activation Code is not valid. Please try again.

I do not know why this does not work, but it is very frustraiting.

I don't know if possibly Uplay have updated something on their system.
But I just went into my Rocksmith game and was able to sign in without problems. Very strange.

Have you filed a ticket with ubisoft support?

support.ubi.com

They should be able to fix the issue for you.

Honestly, no I did not bother.
I could still play the game, and just couldnt be bothered to open a ticket, seems to have fixed itself now though...

that's the error message i was getting too.you should start Uplay, log in to your account and then ALWAYS start the game through Uplay with steam running and logged in in the background.that's what got it working for me,although i must admit it was a real pain to get it working right...

To get it working, I entered the CD key with the hyphens in uplay, but I had to delete an extra space on the end that steam put into the clipboard. Inside Rocksmith, I had to change my uplay password to remove any spaces to be able to log in. I also reduced it to 8 characters, but I don't know whether that was required or not. I then copied the CD key as is into the Rocksmith activation box. Then everything worked. Not long-winded and laborious at all.

Had the same issue today, as said above, I had a special character not recognized by the game, so I had to change my Ubisoft password to fit.
To verify that, just check that for each character pressed, a new star * is added.

Wait so it is actually possible to log in still? I confirmed with another game my old password wasn't working after they changed the rules for them. So I updated it and the new password still doesn't work for Rocksmith. Tried it many times.
