Capo Tuning Issue For 3 a.m. Song
I am having trouble with the CAPO tuning for the 3 a.m. downloadable song. When playing the song it appears that the low e and a strings fretting on the screen is one fret higher than the note that the program accepts as the correct note. Notes for the other 4 strings appear to be in sync.I have noticed this for both guitar lead and bass playing that this is the case. Has anyone had the same problem? Should I tune these strings differently as a work around?

I was just messing around with this song an hour ago...I noticed that my guitar and RS were happiest with the capo in the middle of the fret (not near the metal). I had to adjust it a bit during calibration...then it was good. I am not sure the capo was perfectly straight. I just used what the calibration was happy with.

Now if I could just play the song better...

If your capo is extraordinarily tight (like a Kyser) then it might bend the strings out of tune. It will also damage your frets, so I would just get a better capo.

I have this same issue, I always have to readjust the capo during tuning, it definitely makes a difference where you put it on the fret. I find that song is one of the worst for detection. I like the song but struggle when I clearly play the note/chord on the screen it says "MISS"

As the capo gets closer to the fret, it requires less tension in order to hit a clear (and in tune note). If your capo doesn't have adjustable tension then put it where it sounds best.

Yeah, I have found that I have to mess with the capo to get it to work on that song.

Thanks for the comments. I will try to move the capo around and will likely pick up a new one. The one that I have been using is a Kyser capo and its tension is extremely strong. It almost like clamping a vise grip on the guitar.

That may be the problem.... mine is not adjustable but doesn't grip that tight.

you can always hit space and fine tune with capo on .This is more of a problem if you have jumbo frets like most of the ibanaze's. those quick capo's are way to strong in my IMO

Most of the quick capos that I've seen were designed for acoustics, not electrics. With the (normally) heavier strings, it's not as big of an issue, but I still prefer adjustable capos.

i keep playing with it capo on or close to the wire an tuning with it on (capo) in custom tuning works too

I agree, retuning with the capo on helps.
