Horrible FPS issue
Hey all!,

Been playing Rocksmith for about a year now. Got a new PC recently and everything was peachy- Runs new AAA stuff like FarCry 4 on Ultra no problem, Rocksmith was great, too. Then suddenly Rocksmith took a nosedive. I'm talking 1-5 FPS, constantly, irregardless of graphics settings. I can't tune let alone play, the lag is ridiculous.

Any thoughts on what could caused it and what to try next?

Well, I assume you don't play it every day. My guess is new software is messing with RS. Did you do anything to sound, like turning on surround sound or something?

Any new drivers? Something that can sometimes mess things up is if you have Nvidia Beta drivers enabled. I'm playing on a steady 60fps.

Sounds like you got something running in the background hogging resources.

Nothing else running in the background, up to date stable release NVidia drivers. I got it to be barely playable by turning off literally every graphics option available. Meanwhile, Dragon Age: Inquisition runs at a solid 60 on Ultra settings. Frusturating!

Found the issue- Had to go into the NVidia Control Panel and force Rocksmith to use the Nvidia card of the integrated graphics. Don't know how it possibly got switched to Integrated, but that fixed it!

Glad you got it working.

My Dell Inspiron 15r with an i5 mobile CPU can run Rocksmith on the integrated graphics fairly well.

Yeah, the add-on AMD 7700M GPU does help it run smoother, but it will run acceptably on either.

I have mine set to use the AMD, but it will auto switch to integrated when it goes on battery power.

Rocksmtih does fine on either, but other games suffer badly on the integrated graphics.

Excellent! Thanks for posting the resolution too, that may help others with the same issue.
