I have XBOX 360 played fine. Make sure you look at how to properly hook up the box to audio and video to prevent lag... That is the only fine point to it working properly on the XBOX.

IMO PC is the best. Just a better platform all around for many reasons.

That will, however, depend on your PC and your PC savvy.

Consoles are better for those who are not PC savvy and/or don't want to mess installing games, tweaking settings, and keeping a PC up-to-date.

I have it on PS3 and PS4, and it works great. As Paladin you need to make sure you hook up the audio correctly to prevent lag.

The PC version works great too. I got it because it is hard to get the TV away from the family. You also need to make sure you hook up the audio correctly to prevent lag. But, how good it works depends on what else you have running/installed... system configuration... etc. That is not a concern on the consoles as they only run the game you are playing, and the configurations are standard.

PC version is much better... IF you want to play on the PC. Some prefer to play on TV in the living room. But you can get better performance out of the PC version, extra tools like Tab exporter, Custom DLC and many other things that are just not possible on the consoles.

Sometimes my PC is on the TV in my living room. The sofa recliner is more comfortable than my desk chair. The sofa don't work so good for guitar playin', however. :D

I got the PC and the PS3 version of RS and RS2014, so sometimes i play in the living room too. But my computer screen is sharper (2560x1440), the game loads way faster and i have a better note response after setting up the configuration file in regards to my system. Also i can use steam while playing, ie screenshot functionality, chat and web browser. i got a good chair but i play more and more while standing.

Oh full disclosure --- I have been playing on my Mac for over 600 Hours and run it on my laptop (Mac Air ) so I perfer use a Personal Computer instead of the Xbox.

thanks for the input i just wish i could get it to play consistantly, i have 10 hrs on the game and i am learning alot but i have spent at least 20 hrs trying to get it to work. i have the pc version and bought the game off amazon with the cable. i've tried everything that everyone has suggested and more i love the game when it works.

If you are using windows, then you need to make sure that nothing else is running in the background while playing. The game is very CPU intensive, not GPU. So for instance, when I have my mail app up on my Mac, and I get a new email, the game pauses for a few seconds.

Also, any kind of antivirus scanning can lead to poor performance.

thats weird i went in and shut everything down as per ubisoft and it didn't make a difference. this morning i tried for 2 hours to get it to boot up properly tonight when i got home it booted up the first time and my antivirus is scanning right now. the problem that i have is when you get to the first menu it acts like the down button is stuck, can't choose anything but the bottom choice in any menu. i unplugged everything except the mouse and it didn't make a difference. it is hit or miss when it will boot correctly.

Try to switch the usb ports for the mouse and keyboard. So you can't use the mouse or keyboard to scroll up or down in any Rocksmith menu?

You might want to try and run in windowed mode. Then you can see if your up and down, or mouse can scroll in other windows with the rocksmith game running in another window.

ran in windowed mode keyboard works in othe programs when it doesn't work in the game. game crashed today while i was playing it put a file in local. rocksmith2014_260519_crash_2015_1_17T16_10_57C0.mdmp

I use it on a Windows Laptop that is low spec, I shut everything down that I can and run it exclusively. I find it works pretty well for me. I know some people have some issues but, once you get them resolved I think, from what I have seen on here, the PC experience is the best environment for playing RS. I think the consoles are useable but the PC integration seems to be a tad better. - I do have a MAC and used it on there but it's not as good as the PC IMO so I just use my Windoze laptop pretty much for RS only.

when i get to play i love the software but it is frustrating when it doesn't work

Your stuck menu problem sounds like A controler conflict. CH Pro rudder pedals and X55 joysticks can cause the menu problem . Unplug all uneeded usb devices and see if that helps.
*** I see you have tried this, sorry it didnt help.
