You need to own the first Rocksmith to be able to buy it. You can play it in RS2014 afterwards.

Correction. If you just wantto play RS1 DLC, you do not need the $10 import tool, just RS1. The import tool is only necesary if you want to play the original on disc RS1 songs.

So, I just want to clarify... I just got RockSmith 2014 at Christmas... I tried to buy a DLC song from the Original Rocksmith, and Steam wouldn't let me because it said that I didn't have the proper game. I have to buy the original RS first before I buy the DLC? and if I want to import the songs that come with the Original RS into RS2014, that's where I have to buy the import tool?? Thanks...

Yes and no. I don't think there is a list anywhere but some RS 1 DLC can be bought. Since I had RS 1 first, I have no idea which ones. But I have seen posts, so you should try each one individually that you want. You might be able to get some of them.
