Calibration Issues - Rocksmith won't pick up my guitar
During initial calibration when firing up Rocksmith for the first time I cannot get it to register my guitar, it just keeps saying "It sounds like you are unplugged" or something to that effect. At first i thought it was the Real Tone Cable but I've tested it on my PCs standard sound recorder, it definately picks up my guitar tones. So I have no idea what the issue could be. I've even tried it in different USB slots.

Has anyone had similar issues? I really want to use this program to get back into guitar

What type of guitar?

Try using the bridge pickups.

Make sure the volume is all the way up on the guitar.

Try increasing the RealTone cable gain in the game options.

Strum the crap out of it ...don't break it ... but, get them strings to make some noise!

What type of guitar? (repeated to make sure you answer this question)

do you have anything else plugged in your usb ports, I know rocksmith will not work when I have a game contoller, plugged in on my pc. Don't know why it just won't.

You might also try and make the RS cable your default microphone. I've seen RS get confused and listen to your mic instead of your guitar.

It's a Les Paul, am sure I'm using those picks ups & the volume is up. The sound gets picked up when I use the standard Windows Sound Recorder, but doesn't get anything on the game itself.

I do have some stuff plugged in; Mouse, keyboard, internet dongle. But as I just said to another helpful chap the Windows Sound Recorder does pick stuff up so the cable is working, the game just seems to say no.

Wow you're patient. But you never said if it was the default sound recording device in windows. I have seen RS get confused and listen to the wrong device. Usually making it the default device will fix it. In RS ini you can also add a line to tell it what recording device to use. But I think you tell it to listen to 1 or 2 or whatever, so you might have to keep trying numbers until you find it.

Also you used the term real tone cable. The only real tone cable is made by ubisoft and says ubisoft on the housing. So you either bought the game bundled with the real tone cable or sought one out, right? RS won't listen to any other cable but the real tone cable.
