I think they run about 30 US. I use a 6 foot extension so that my 1/4 inch plug doesn't get stressed. I have had my cable for about 2 years now, ever since I got RS 1. But you do have to treat them with care or the cable will wear out pretty quickly.

I have two cables I use, both are 1.5+ years old and work fine.

I had one from Rocksmith 1 that went bad on me a few weeks ago. It may have been run over by a chair; I don't know for sure. Anyway, it was 2 years old. Fortunately, I had a spare, but I couldn't play multiplayer for a week until I got a new one.

what about this crack I hear that allows you to use the input on your sound card? I hear its fuzzy sounding.

We don't talk about that kind of stuff here.

yeah, I have to wiggle my cable a bit so the sound actually works.

Mine started to crackle with the slightest movement. I ended up cutting the end off and splicing a 90 degree jack on it. Works great now.

Mine got bent, it's a RS1 cable, I just bent it back yesterday, still works. I wouldn't say it'll hold up much more, but it has held up over... extreme playing, drunk playing, spinning in circles and god knows what, lol.

I got my cable and played just long enough to love this game before the cable quit working. It lasted a few hours. I've ordered another one but if it breaks that quickly then I will be looking for a way to use a different cable. It's very disappointing because it really is a fun game. I just can't see spending $30 every week for a new cable.

I have had my cable since I started playing, the only issue I had with it is the break away would come loose. I pushed it together tightly and taped it with black electrical tape. Never had an issue since. I use it almost every night. - I do have a second cable, I bought it with RS1 for $20 on ebay. - I don't think you have to pay $30 for cables if you keep your eye on ebay and I don't think the life expectancy is anything like 2 weeks.

Hopefully it was just dumb luck and I got a bad cable. I'm sure it happens. Keeping my fingers crossed that the new one will last longer.

Yeah I've had the same cable since 2012 and it still works great with zero issues so the people who say they break easily either had bad luck with a faulty cable or they didn't take care of it haha.

Had my cable over a year and it gets alot of use and it's perfectly fine (:
