Select your built in audio playback device (usually RealTek Speakers) to be your default playback device.

Then start the game.

Other than that you don't really say how you have it connected. Some info about your setup would help us to help you.

This is only useful if you actually have speakers or headphones attached to the selected device.

Has this worked previously or is this your first time using rocksmith 2014?
What is your preferred sound device?
Are you using USB Headphones or speakers? If so, this can probably be made to work, but be aware that there are well known issues with USB sound devices which make them sub-optimal for use with rocksmith. you are far best off using a standard PCI sound device with analog speakers attached to them.

make sure your OS, all drivers and redistributables are up to date.
read all of the stickies.
Read the RS setup and latency guides - http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/716851-Rocksmith-PC-Configuration-and-FAQ-s-Forums, http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-us/setup/index.aspx

Thus my 2nd paragraph asking the OP to provide us with more info about their setup.

default device is working, cable from my pc to my amp, havent tryed to play recently but thank you for all ur help!\
Strait-Up-Lazy Mar 13, 2015 @ 9:23am
and would a fukt up cable from guitar to comp be the issue?
rcole_sooner Mar 13, 2015 @ 10:35am
Nope.

That would not cause an audio device error.

That would result in RealTone cable not detected error.

Have you updated all your drivers from your manufacturer's website (not just use WIndows Update)?

What are your system specs ... GPU, audio device, OS?

I forget, do you get this error sometimes if the audio output isn't stereo and DVD quality.
