Bigsbys are not suited for this. They are for a shimmer here and a shimmer there, not for heavy whammy action. You want a FR-style trem for this. Schecter should be ok, but don't go for the cheapest, espacially with a trem. Cheap trems are no fun at all. Also, keep in mind that tuning is not funny with floating bridges. So playing songs with many different tunings in RS will become a PITA.

You cannot put a whammy on an LP ... at least not easily.

And yeah, a bigsby does not a whammy bar make.

Really all that stuff would just make the alternate tunings harder in the game.

I got a lot of whammy bar guitars, I have nothing against them, they are just not perfect for use with Rocksmith.

I have not tried the sustainiac pickups, but I do have a e-bow. Also not much use with the game.

im not puting the pick up in for the game spisificly i just want a guitar perfect for hard stuff..so thank you for you advice but not really wht im looking for
Installing a floating tremolo on a Les Paul is both expensive and not really worth the money when you can get a 24 fret Ibanez for a fairly reasonable price. I have a 1991 Ibanez RT650, one of the predecessors to the current Andy Timmons model (which he used to play). Got it on eBay for a few hundred bucks several years ago, upgraded the pickups to DiMarzio's and now have a pretty sick guitar. You will lose a lot of the sustain of a Les Paul by putting a floating tremolo bridge on it, and the guitar has to be custom routed to fit it, hence why so few models have them, the Alex Lifeson Les Paul is one of the few that I know of and it is a custom shop guitar for serious dollars. Get an Ibanez or Charvel, a good axe is reasonable from those brands.

Also, there is currently no tremolo bridge functionality in the game, and would be hard to emulate, much like the killswitch effects from the RATM tracks being completely nonsense, because it's not a standard setup.

Gibson also do a 'standard' axcess, which is a bit cheaper. But if TS is after a more affordable LP-style with an FR, the ESP LTD EC series might suit.

Putting some pickup in some guitar might not give the results you are expecting. A LP has a unique characteristic of sound, quite different from eg a strat or a tele. The pickup you build in has to fit this, otherwise your sound might get really, really bad. Looking at them, I see them mostly built in into strat style guitars. They seem to be active, so you have to do a lot of work on your LP to get them built in, some woodwork included, which also affects the sound. I'd rather not do this on my LP, but if you don't care about a damaged LP and want to try it, it's your money after all.

Afaik Zakk Wylde's LPs don't have a trem. No Bigsby, no FR. He also seems to use EMG Pickups, not Sustainiacs. So I'm not sure, how he is related to this thread.

If you want a whammy bar you might want to get a Fender guitar, like a Stratocaster or similar. My Strat has a whammy bar and it works great. Some people dislike the floating tremolo because it's hard to keep in tune. After I put locking tuners on the Strat it's been a night and day difference, totally stays in tune now.

The Rocksmith lessons don't really cover the whammy bar, but it can be used to do bends. Hank Marvin (of The Shadows) had trouble doing bends so he just learned how to do his bends with the whammy bar.

I used the whammy bar on my Strat to get the Lost Arch achievement in Rocksmith 2014. :-)

The Fender-style trem won't work for what TS wants to do; he's going to need more travel for raising pitch, and more tuning stability than you'd get(even with a slef-lubricating or roller nut and string trees).

The advice however remains the same - don't cheap out on the trem. It's really not worth it.

And one last point - Les Paul was a tinkerer. His original Black Beauty was modded almost constantly during the 20 years he used it. Granted, he was trying to lose distortion, but he'd still be offering suggestions on how you can get the sound you want.

I love guitars with the whammy bar because of the crazy sounds that it can make to further broaden your expression of emotions, but that comes with a price. Especially in Rocksmith I don't recommend it, I have one that is a pain in the ass I don't play it anymore because although I did everything it keeps 'eating' my 4th string, it keeps detuning (sounds the same as the 5th). Also, in Rocksmith, you'd have to keep it in standard tuning as everything you do outside of Learn A Song is with that tuning, and like other people have mentioned, floating bridges are a pain in the ass to tune. You'll only be able to play in standard; but if you do have many other guitars with a stop tail or tune-o-matic bridge so you can play other songs then it's good. I'd recommend a PRS custom with whammy bar, or an Ibanez, maybe a Jackson? Don't worry about the sound too much if you plan to use it mainly on rocksmith, as the sound of the guitar in-game is from rocksmith not your own.

If you get a guitar with an OFR, you can add a drop-D tuna, which will allow you to play in drop tunings, and there's a huge variety of pitch shifter pedals available, which will give you access to any standard or drop tuning in A=440.

Is this what you mean for locking tuners?

I put in some wood in the back of my squire guitar to keep it from moving...seemed to help, but if tuning lockers are meant to do this, I might get 'em
