Like Razer sonar, Elgato, Nvidia sounds software. Using a VR (option in RS mods to fix that) or even an Asus mouse can be problematic.
So without having more knowledge about your system setup (hardware/software) it's just guessing for us now.
I have used the cldc installer and RSmods to do the VR error fix.
it used to work no problem in the past before they took it off steam and the only real change to my system is the Meta VR.
I have uninstalled Nvidia sound and steam sound devices in device manager.
When launching from Steam, it doesn't even open a window. The steam list shows running for one second, then the cloud backup icon flashes twice with an exclamation mark and the process closes.
Funny thing is, original Rocksmith works no problem.
This actually did work for me. Granted, I had only just obtained the game the other day and tried launching and failing a few times, but had not done any troubleshooting yet.
Since I came across this advice arbitrarily, I decided to try it (removed one earphone device and one mobile device connection) and the next launch immediately worked. Very fortunately, the F11 advice applied to me as well.
Those coming across this thread and reading NonionFarmer's comment may want to attempt this fix. It would be an icing on the cake if NonionFarmer can remember where they read this from so I can check out the source also.
I searched Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Learn and Play crashes on startup and this is the discussion i found it on. Looks like its a problem that rocksmith was having before they took it down and put it back up as learn and play.
Ah so it's a hard limit thing. Wonderful, thanks for linking it!
I saw a post of the Devs pinned that it wouldn't be wise to have both programs on the same account, as it might mess each other up.
Let us know how it goes, cause that could be another thing to be the problem.
Not sure what you mean. I am talking about Rocksmith 1 from 2011. I've had it installed the entire time I used RS2014 on the same machine, same account since 2014 without any problems until now. But thank you for the information. I will log out of Rocksmith 1 and see what that does.
I also tried installing RS2014 on my Handheld PC, which has worked before, and it does the same error 0xc000007b.
That error code comes up as a possible conflict between 32 bit and 64 bit versions of software.
You post this message in a topic that goes about the Rocksmith L&P.
To avoid this kind of confusion its always better to create your own post. Then it can be handled better in the specific subject.
Yeah, I see. Thanks.
Either way, my copy of RS2014 which now lists as "RS2014 Remastered L&P" in my games list works now. I did nothing. It was not working this morning, but starting working this evening. The only things I have done since the post earlier today is uninstall another game and play a little bit of House Flipper on steam. So I can't give anyone any advice on how to get their copy working. Sorry to bother people.
