Best songs to play in Rocksmith 2014 with electric acoustic guitar?
Hey folks,

So I do not own any DLCs. What are the best songs I should and can play on Rocksmith 2014 with an electric acoustic guitar? I tried playing some rock songs with it, but it seemed weird. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're neither right nor wrong. If it sounds weird to you then it is weird to you. Might sound fine to someone else though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... and in the ear of the listener.

That said, Rocksmith is designed to be played on electric guitar. Unless you're using good, noise cancelling earphones then the acoustic sound of your guitar is always going to be "fighting" with the tone produced by Rocksmith. Also, any latency, however small, will be very obvious.

So yeah... good luck with it, but I'm not sure it will ever sound "right" on an electro-acoustic.

Do you know any songs that are acoustic in the base Rocksmith 2014 game? So far from what I researched, it seems I have to buy the song packs that include acoustic songs. Do you know which packs have them? Bob Marley is already included.

That's what I came back here to suggest. Occurred to me last night but I was in bed at the time. :p If you're not fighting with the Rocksmith sound you can literally play anything and it should sound fine. Well, maybe not metal, but most other stuff should be ok! ;)

I actually enjoy playing some metal rhythm and riffs on acoustic. You just can't play the crazy lead stuff.
I didn't mean it was not possible to play metal riffs/lead on an acoustic. Of course it is, and I do it all the time. I meant it doesn't sound particularly good... to me at least... when playing along with a metal band in Rocksmith on acoustic. But that's me.

Take your fav songs and go for it.Might sound a little odd at first from song to song depending how effects heavy it is . If you make it clean and play well its awesome .Back in the day and some today have unplugged versions of their music. A lot of the Hendrix and SRV. audioslave pak stuff i play on my acoustic

I like to play acoustically - The Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash song packs might be a good place to start. Kansas "Dust In The Wind" and Black Keys "Little Black Submarines are good finger picking songs. Look up Travis Picking tutorials on YouTube if you can't finger pick already. Rocksmith doesn't teach how but It's never too *soon* to start and It's not so hard once you get the first simple pattern down; a bit like riding bike really. Thom York plays Fade Out (street spirit) with a plectrum but I find it easier to finger-pick it.

Other acoustic songs: "More Than Words" Extreme; Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler"; Pure Prairie League "Amie"; Eddie Cochran "Summertime Blues"; Redemption Song; Don McLean's "American Pie" is good value for money. Joni Mitchell's songs are a fun intro to unusual tunings. Jim Croce's "Time In A Bottle" is the most challenging song in my library.
Mumford and Sons, KT Tunsall and Oasis songs are great strummers.

If I think of more I'll list them

Wow, Thanks for the award there! It's prompted me to come back with a few more acoustic songs that sprung to mind after I posted before:
Banana Pancakes is fun to play and a good crowd pleaser,
Likewise Bowie's Space Oddity but alas that's now delisted - one for Rocksmith+ maybe?
Norah Jones' Don't Know Why is great for after dark as the campfire burns low, before everyone heads back to their tents :-)
