Stuck on mission: Scale shapes in a variety of positions

I have a session mode mission and the description is "Play scale shapes in a variety of positions on the neck". The tasks are "Load the Epic band" and "Move to the next position several times".

I don't know what it means to "move to the next position several times". I have zoomed out with the down arrow and played the scale notes up and down the neck. I have tried pushing the left and right arrow keys to change the position. No matter how much I do those things, the game never awards me the mission. What am I missing?

Ok positions have to do with Frets. Every fifth fret is basically a new hand position. Sounds, to me like it wants you to play the scale in the different positions. The scale that is in the session mode should show you what fret you should be in.

Thanks, but I have tried playing in the indicated position, as well as outside of it. I have also tried changing the indicated position with the left and right arrow keys. None of these things award me the mission.

Sorry I missed your post yesrterday. Make sure all the picks in the mission screen while in session mode if one is not filled corectly it will not register. (IE it might want you to start in a scale position or scale type I remember this one and it will change the scale position and scale after you play a while. Hated that one
Just be sure there are picks in the grey pick spots in the mission box.

Have you tried to zoom out so you could see the whole fretboard at some point of the session?

I think that it isn't acknowledging that I've loaded the "EPIC" band. There is no pick symbol beside that part of the mission when I play, even after I load the EPIC band under the Rock menu. There is a black pick symbol beside the "Move to the next position several times" item and a white bullet point beside the "Zoom out to see all of the positions of scale notes on the neck". Maybe there is a bug that is causing the game to not acknowledge the EPIC band is loaded?

If I manually change the scale positions with the arrow keys, it will eventually move back to the default position after a while. But when it is at the default position, it never changes on its own.

I have zoomed out to see the whole fretboard, but this didn't help.

Did you change any of the default instraments after you picked Rock>Epic band.
I know i had problems with that>But i cant remember what forseure i did
Try it again but select Changes in the complexity slider

DSoesn't the Epic band automatically change the scale position with thte key changes? Or is that a comlpexity setting? Anyway, try loading the epic band, and then just start jamming away. The scale should change to different positions and you can just follow along.

ok so i have a profile in my game that is stuck in the same place doing the same thing see screen shot pic let me know if it is the same I am gonna work on this today.I have compleated all session modes in an other profile.and i do remember this happening and got passed it.But let me know if you have found a solution

can not pass it with this profile. But have done so in 2 other profiles.sent ticket to ubi
Not a steam issue. i played up down all around ror 30 min no go

Thanks for the information and for your efforts, MTZIGG. I tried getting technical support from Ubisoft for the issue, but was informed that they couldn't help with gameplay issues (only crashes, freezes, installation problems, etc) and that I should consult an online walkthrough or forum. It was a disapointing response. Please let us know if you can get more information from them with your ticket.

Will do.I think that was why i abandoned that profile buts is been awhile
I know it sucks because it is quie a way into session mode string
Bright side it can get passed with diff profile bad side dont know why and could break again.
I had somthing similar in skyrim quest chain and other games.

man i forgot about you sorry I got the same from ubi
but any way i did get passed but i dont know how exactly
here's what i did 1made sure my guitar was in tune using the tuner thing that pops up and shows the notes you are playing dont do any thing after that
2 sut down RS exit steam
3 reboot computer
4 restart RS dont tune guitar when it pops hit enter and calibrate then tune you shuoldt have to
than start session mode dont change any thing except what you have to. than play it wont change while playing hit right arrow key play notes there then hit left arrow play notes there
I repeted it a few times than i zoomed all the way out and let it zoom back in on its own

I have been stuck on this mission for months now.
It has completely put me off of playing in session mode any more.
How the hell do you get past it?

Do you have to actually use the left/right arrow keys to 'change position'?
or can you simply zoom all the way out and just play up and down the neck?

It seems a few people had this. I was put off buy it also but knew it was possible. Read the above post from me.The only thing is I flew right thru it on another profile.still not sure what the bug is sometimes.
