Although you may need to get some DLC to keep it fresh along the way.
Does Rocksmith provide all of the tools needed to play all of it's songs?
Well, What do you think they need to provide? I don't think I have The trooper, Cliffs of Dover, or Satch boogie. I mostly play Bass now... I have tried my hand at Lead and before Rocksmith I primarily played Rythm. I have a stack of Hal Leonard books and every guitar for dummies published. Another pile of song books and chord books. Before Rocksmith, I wouldn't have even considered paying a guitar teacher.
Since Rocksmith... Well, I have bought a bunch of DLC, MP3's and three new guitars. I always loved the guitar, I just never made the time to learn. I haven't learned everything Rocksmith has to offer me. Once I master everything it has to offer, maybe I'll know enough to answer your question. I can tell you that things I did not understand or get from the Hal Leonard books are starting to work for me now.
I don't pick song that are easy. I pick songs I like. I tend to stick with E-standard tuning. Once I feel I am not getting enough from Rocksmith, I may hire a guitar teacher. Or, I may go back to school and study music.
I like the Riff Repeater. It definitely helps with the hard stuff. By the way, if you are having trouble with a song, try the score attack. There are three different arrangements for each song; easy, medium, and hard. Work your way up on each level until Rocksmith tells you are a Rock God. That's what I do.
I got Alan King's "The Sky is Crying." In less than ten trys, I had it up to 90%... I am still working on Satana. But, I enjoy it.
But if you are serious enough about learning the instrument that those challenging songs are you goal, why would you limit yourself to ONLY Rocksmith? Why not take advantage of, at the very least, the many, many free resources available online?
Even if RS was officially deemed The Best Guitar Teaching Tool Evar™, no reason it should be the only one in your educational arsenal.
Exactly... I like Rocksmith, I have a lot to learn, and Rocksmith manages to keep me motivated.
We also have this forum... You can come here and ask for advice. There are plenty of good guitarists here that are willing to help out a noobie. Everytime you guys recomend a website or chord diagrams... What ever... I go check it out.
Oh, I haven't bought any new books... I am going back to stuff tat's been sitting in the bookshelf.
my experience of this was i was an "okay" bassist, nothing to difficult but after some time i get the hang of the harder rush songs through practice and learning the scales to make it easier on myself. - with any instrument its 50% learning and 50% if your dedicated - its not a shortcut to learning your instrument faster but an more game like easier way of doing so. :) hope this helps bro and good luck! ^^
