But, I am not up on the current bands and what they sound like... Well, to be honest, I don't know anything past about 1980. OK, no smart remarks. Well, maybe a few are merited. I was discussing this with a friend at work, who as it turns out also plays guitar as an occasional hobby. He as it turns out, use to play on stage. He's going to get Rocksmith for his birthday now in Apirl. He had his ipod at work and was letting listen to some of the more up to date music.
One thing that I think would help Rocksmith is to allow the customer to hear the song when they are looking at them in the shop. All the DLC's I have purchased are pre-1990's. The only songs I have purchased are the ones I recognize or RS1 which let me hear them before I bought them.
Recently, I paused on a song or two which came with either RS1 or RS2014 and listened to the preview of the track. I decided to give the song a try because I iked the bass riff. Bang, it's my number one song right out of the blocks. Hey, I even like it. First time I ever heard it. But, for those of you who may have seen American Bandstand... It's gota good beat and I can dance to it (the other name for Richard they are censoring the real name), I'll give it a 78.
Part of the reason I bring this up is that lately when they bring out a new song pack, I don't hear a preview. If I don't know the band and I have never heard the songs... Well, I promise you I will not buy them
I don't know Placebo... They maybe fun to play, Pappy, I'll check out the Ostrich. I got that one, I don't know why I can't preview the new songs. I can hear the older ones which I don't own. I don't know if this has got something to do with my system or some legal BS. But Ubi, I just won't buy everything you guys put out.
So what is the song that you mentioned?
I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but I like Space Ostrich - Surf Hell too. Could use more surfin' tunes. I knew of no band called Placebo before the OP brought it up. Checked it out on youtube and came back officially as uninterested.
Well, there is more than one. But, try out Black Magic... I have been concentrating on Bass. So, I don't know what the Lead and Rythm are like, but the bass is great. Another one is Called Where is my mind... That Space Octrich is really good... Makes me wonder about checking out some of the songs mentioned here. Well, count me in as a Space Ostrich fan... I had never heard it until tonight.
I don't think I am good enough on the songs I said I was going to learn to quit practicing. But, sometimes... I like to try something different.
The Bass on "Black Magic" isn't hard but it is fast paced. And, at least for me, that can be very challenging. And, I think it sound really good. Even when I play it. I got to 99% really quick... I don't like the vanishing note thing. So, I turn off master mode. At least until I have played it a few more times.
If you got it and you an't tried it out, go listen to it.
I found Black Magic a few weeks ago, played it a few times on bass. It's easy but requires steady timing. I must keep missing a note somewhere, because I can't get quite get the 110% MM score, or even the 100% on standard mode.
And, If I can't preview the sound of a song... I am not going to purchase the song if it's not one I recognize.
