12 String Guitars
I did several searches to see if someone posted and found none, so, that being said. I was wondering if anyone has tried RS14 with a 12 string guitar yet, and if so, did you have any problems? I'm going to try it myself in time but was curious if others have.

It should work, but you might run into note detection problems every so often.

I don't see why not, so long as half of those strings are tuned to what the game wants to hear.

I don't see why you would even bother.... All it could do is cause problems...

You're kidding right? The badly tuned strings would certainly cause the note to be detected incorrectly.

I have an electric acousitic bass. Most of the time it works fine, sometimes RS can't hear the notes. I also, have an acoustic guitar with a preamp similar setup to the acoustic bass but I have never hooked it up to RS.

It sounds like nobody knows for sure or has not tried it yet, so, I pulled out my 335 12 string to see what would happen. Yes, you can use a 12 string for RS14 and it will work, but I don't recommend it, especially if your new to guitar. The complexities that are naturally inherent to the 12 string guitar with the extra 6 strings have no place here, if you learn with the 6 string, you only have a little to go in learning to cover the 12 strings right, and it's not that hard, fear is your worst enemy in keeping you from 12 strings.

I will also note if anyone is wondering, don't use Nashville tuning with this either, I haven't tried it yet (in RS14) but I doubt if it will work. I do have a Nashville tuned guitar, I may try it sometime but I figure, heck, most have never even heard of it, so look it up LOL......

EDIT: I found this on You Tube on Nashville Tuning....

One more edit for new guitar players, some of you may get your socks knocked off by this but this is another little deal used with electric guitars called "The B Bender" music starts at 1:08

You can also add a G Bender for both B & G but man, that's some tough stuff to learn, but well worth it when/if you do.....

Interesting...
So that B Bender is like a tremolo arm but it acts on only the B string...
Being connected to the strap like that I imagine you can only really use it when you're sitting down?

Nope, you can use it standing up as well. James Hetfield used one for Unforgiven 2.

Correct, in fact most use it standing, once you get the hang of it, it's not hard but getting the timing right can be difficult for some. I guess some may say I'm nuts but I think it's one of those deals where you have to feel it and flow with it. I used to play a B Bender but can't now so I sold mine (due to accident and getting hands messed up), I first heard the sound on an LP and thought it was a Pedal Steel, then I saw the group (a gospel group actually called Parable) live and seen the B Bender in action up front and close, I was hooked, that was back in 77 or 78 after playing 13 or so years already, I had to wonder how I missed it before then.

Another aspect new players will find out about soon enough is the Synth Guitar, I bring some of this stuff up to show new players just how great playing guitar can be, so don't give up.
