Cool idea though; it should be possible to make a guitar-input to game-controller driver that would work.
Nice Freudian there, man, but I thought you meant to say epiphany, right? ;)
To get it run, i've installed ASIO4ALL. In the Audio setup of AmpliTube i selected ASIO4ALL as input device and USB Guitar Adapter for left and right channel. Furthermore i activated "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter" as device in the ASIO4ALL settings which will appear in the system tray when AmpliTube is connected to ASIO4ALL.
I don't have any money right now, so I'm just going to pelt these guys with questions. This device seems to work in conjunction with Joy2Key. I don't like the idea of having to spend a bunch of money for this, but whatever, I've never heard of a cheap hobby.
Oh, and do you mind sharing what it is you did with Joy2Key to get any kind of input at all? I may be able to fiddle with it some more.
I had a question about the USB Trigger. Does it accept Audio input? I've been trying to figure out a way to use a guitar for video games
(specifically fighting games) for a very long time. I heard that the trigger
works well with Joy2Key, so I think that all I need is for it to be able to
translate audio input (Specifically from a RealTone adapter) into some kind
of computer-legible input. Is this in any way possible?
And he responded with this:
The USB Trigger does not accept audio input directly. It requires a
digital (logic level or contact closure) to simulate a joystick or key press
on the computer. You would need another circuit/device to convert the tones
from your guitar into specific channels by frequency.
I'm gonna be frank here, I'm not sure what this means exactly.
I'm serious about doing this, so I may put some time looking into DragonSpeak...
Edit: So apparently Windows(I know it's on Vista, not sure about 8) has a built in voice recognition thing. This may be useful.
