Any news on a new version? Rocksmith 2016?
Just curious if anyone's got the scoop on if or when there might be a new version of Rocksmith. Not that there's anything wrong with 2014, of course.

Wondering if Ubi & friends are working on it?

They are intentionally not releasing a new game every year. Right now, the focus is on DLC.

Personally, I'm hoping they take their time. I'm playing RS2014 on an underpowered laptop currently that doesn't meet the official specs. If they release RS2016, I'm sure it will require more than my computer can handle.

I hope they stay focused on DLC, the game works extremely well for what it's supposed to do. I am sure there are things they could add, tweak, modify, relaunch but for now let's build the official DLC library.

I didn't play it a lot, but I do kinda miss the Career mode from the original game. It forced me to play and learn songs that weren't necessarily my favorites. I wish they could bring that mode over, but keep 2014's much better song selection.

No forseeable plans for Rocksmith right now. Per Ubisoft, it's "not their main priority right now"

I guessing that they could just add modules to add new features without the need for a new version , looks like it was set up to be thay way .

I would love it if they made a separate addon expansion pack for RS2014 to accomodate 7 string and 8 string guitars. I'd buy that and any applicable DLC in a heart beat. Guitarcade and session mode would be so awesome with extended range guitar options.

It's been available for PS4 for a while now, and still at full price ($59.99) on the PSN store.

I can't imagine what they could add to a new addition. Maybe some hardcore training sessions with elite guitarists. But even that could probably be accomplished via DLC
