Hey guys! I just bought Rocksmith 2014, then I saw there's a Foo fighters song pack DLC. Did I need the Import tool if I want to play those songs?

Import tool lets you import the on-disc songs from RS1, not the DLC.

Edit: You can buy some of (not all) the RS1 songs w/o owning it. It's an issue that they've worked out for a few of the DLCs. As TRex said, if you can't play it then it won't let you buy it. I'm 99.9% sure that's true...

I've seen this list elsewhere, but where did it originate? Is it updated (either here or elsewhere) as other DLCs are converted to compatible-for-2014-through-Steam status?

Folks on this forum have contributed to the list as they've found songs that are fixed. I haven't seen it updated in a while.

I had a link to a list but cant find it. I will say this . I owned the 1st RS when i bought the 2014 edition.this is a steam issue.Why the H ell it is not fixed is a mystery i think they just dont give a crap. Just look how long its been since they updated the RS news last time was way back when the Garbage DLC was released. So anyway Most of the DLC i bought before release 2014 transferd over. I was Missing some of them. There was a therad about it way back when.Lot of complaning and such.Well i got the import tool to transfer the 1st edition base songs and all the DLC began working and have had no DLC issues since. so IMHO the 30 or so bucks to get 1st release and import tool is well worth it for the content and NO BS with DLC.I can only hope THAT STEAM COMPENSATES ALL FOR THEIR LACK OF QUILTY and FAIR SERVICE FOR ALL

According to Rocksmith (responding last night to an angry tweet of mine), all RS1 DLC should work with RS2014. "[A]ny RS1 DLC (Pantera, Queen, etc) you buy works perfectly with RS2014 on all platforms, including Steam". I tested this earlier today on my main PC and it worked, so I bought a few more songs.

Now I'm sitting at the PC we use to /play/ RS and none of the RS1 DLC are showing in-game or in the Steam library for RS14 (note that the latter was also the case on the first PC, though they still appeared playable in the in-game library). No apparent way to 'jimmy' the game into acknowledging the RS1 DLC, not even buying another RS1 DLC /on the right PC/ has worked. Even the DLC I just bought on the correct PC isn't showing anywhere except my Steam purchase history.

I've spent about AUD$40 on DLC today between the two versions on Rocksmith's express assurance that it would all work.
