Where are my new songs I just bought?
I have had Rocksmith 2014 on Steam for a few months. Earlier today, I came onto the Steam website and bought a few additional songs and song packs. I completed the purchase and everything. Then I opened up Rocksmith and none of the new songs are there. I cannot find any menu item either on Rocksmith itself or on Steam that tells me how I get the new songs to appear on Rocksmith. Like, I assumed just buying them on Steam would automatically put them into my inventory, but since that didn't work, I'm stumped.

Thanks,

Ken

REESTART STEAM

I rebooted the whole computer, and the songs aren't there.

Can anyone tell me what THEY did to get the songs purchased on Steam into their Rocksmith library? Is it supposed to be automatic or did you have to manually "port" them somehow?

Also, what do you see in your Steam Library? Is each added song or songpack listed separately? All I see in my Library is the ORIGINAL Rocksmith 2014 program, I don't see the added songs even though they are shown in my purchase history.

Songs for RS2014 should appear in your library in RS2014 in the DLC section. The songs in the packs are listed individually and the pack itself is listed there too. The items in there should all be checked, but this always is done automatically for me. I had it once that the songs only appeared after a day. I heard of some, where it took a few days for the songs to appear. I have no idea, why this happens. You're not supposed to do anything, all should work automatically. You did buy the songs for yourself? It could be they are still lurking in your inventory awaiting activation. Check there first (top of the client, Profile name, last item in the menu). If they keep missing, contact steam support.

Okay, it's kind of fixed now. Here's the deal: The songs did show up in my Library shortly after my purchase, in the DLC area (I did not know where to look, was looking in the left column where the main program was). However, they did not show up when I was playing Rocksmith. I tried re-starting my computer, no change. I tried running Steam as an administrator (which I read elsewhere might be needed), no change. Lastly, I uninstalled Rocksmith and re-downloaded it from Steam, which took over an hour. Then when I started it up, the new songs were there.

Though that issue seems fixed, it does make me worry if I buy anymore songs, that I'll need to uninstall and reinstall Rocksmith again to get those new songs into my game. Steam or Ubi needs to come up with a patch or fix for this. From doing extensive google searching, I found others who had this same problem, so I'm not alone. Note, it seems to be a problem with Windows only.

I have purchased quite a bit of DLC and had this problem once, when the songs appeared after a day without me doing anything. I'm on windows as well. I don't think that this is a bug in the program. I think it just takes some time sometimes to sync steam and uplay or something like that. How long did you wait for your songs to appear?

I had this happen last night and as MTZIGG said, I restarted steam and Bob's your uncle!

My guess is that the download of the new songs from Steam got delayed, possibly because something else was downloading. Steam only seems to download one programs update at a time, so if anything else was going the new files would be at the end of the queue.

You can also try validating your file cache if it happens again, that should only download files that are missing.

I have the same problem - I just bought a song - it shows up in my account as "not installed", but there is no option to install it and it doesn't show up within Rocksmith. Not impressed with Steam so far...

Go to Manage Downloads screen, you can get there from Library -> Downloads for example.
I bet they're in queue there, if not already installed since your last post.

Sometimes it just takes a while ... hours ... several game restarts ... more hours ... more game restarts/enumerations ... for them to enumerate into the game.

Actually all you need to do is untick the box next to the song then retick and your song should download just fine. I've also just restarted Steam and they download. Either method has worked for me. Good Luck.

Thanks guys - the song did eventually show up after many hours.

Steam has this quirk where DLC is put into the downloads queue for a few hours. Just go there and start the download manually.

What you have to do is go to Rocksmith in your library, then you'll see all of your dlc listed. It will be checked but each dlc will says Not Installed. You have to uncheck then check the box, then it will install. Annoying, but has to be done every time you buy new songs.

I had this happen to me for the Christmas songs in Steam running Mac OS. They showed up in my RS song list as locked and not playable. Restarting Steam, rebooting did not help. However, they did show up and were playable on Steam Windows platform. They finally showed up yesterday on my Mac.
