Windows 10 choppy distorted sound, unplayable.
Everytime I try to launch rocksmith 2014 its sounds like its from a 8 bit game almost... very static choppy distorted.

Probably buffer underrun. A number of people have run into this on Win10, including me. A few things to try:

(1) Are you using a Realtek integrated audio chip? If so, install the latest driver from their web site.

(2) Try turning off audio exclusivity in RS.

(3) If those fail, you may need to increase LatencyBuffer or the MaxOutputBufferSize in Rocksmith.ini or turn off the Win32UltraLowLatencyMode. These are a last resort, since they'll result in higher audio latency while playing.

I wouldn't suggest turning off either exlusive mode or ultra low latency mode unless all else fails. Try raising the latency buffers and max output buffer sizes first. Setting the latter to -0 lets it autoselect, but try values of 4 and 512 respectively should do it.

Other suggestions -
upgrade your drivers
ensure the cable and output are both set to the same 16bit/48Khz format
If youa re using surround speakers or virtual surround, try changing to 2 channel stereo.

Also, search the forums. We have plenty of threads asking this sort of question already. We're basically just giving the same advice over and over again.

If you have w10, increase the buffer slider (I was on 2 in 7, now on 4-5 in 10, with NO extra latency)

It was the exclusive for me but I put the latency to 4 and it made it sound a bit better.
But the overall sound of my gutiar isn't that good anymore and some of the auto pedals in songs make it sound terrible. Anyone else got this problem? I kinda wonder if its my gutiars battery as it is active but i've hardly used it since I got it as then neck needed to be stressed over days after finnaly figuring it out. (not enough concave, not even that sure how well it worked)

My sound is terrible too it is distorted and kinda wobbly the tuner goes like crazy, unplayable.Everything was ok on win 8.1 but since i`ve upgraded to 10 i can`t play the game.tried everything and couldn`t get it to work, not expecting to go back to win 8 too

No USB headphones/speakers and no dual screen fixed it for me.

Have you tried raising the latency buffers like we've suggested in literally every single thread about this?

That's the buffer size. Leave that at default 0, and change the latency buffers from 2 to 4 before doing anything else. You can also try turning off ultra low latence mode and exclusive mode.
